Lovely trip to the lakes with my over half for our anniversary and couldn't resist taking some pictures of the car. I mean just look at that view!
Mighty D5 did 300 miles without complaint and averaged (a pretty terrible compared to the d4) 37mpg around the lakes. Haven't got a single complaint though.

Very productive Saturday morning with a much needed wash to get the dead bugs off it. Ceramic Waxed too and now beads beautifully. New key cover too. Loving it.

Well here it is, the successor to the V60. A bitter sweet end to ownership, I tossed and turned about keeping the V60 and spending money on it which it needed on the suspension to pass its next MOT but ultimately the increased running costs of an ICE on top of what it needed spending mechanically swayed me away.

I’ll miss that car massively. The V60 was by far the best car I’ve had so far, it just did everything so well. I sold it on the 17” wheels from our V40 as the 18” Ixions are on the V40 now (hence the tiny wheels). It even did over 55mpg on the 220 mile journey to collect the XC40, almost like one last plea not to leave. 😔

I know EVs aren’t for everyone but Volvo hit it on the head with the P8. It is just like the V60 was in terms of practicality and comfort but the suspension is far superior and more sophisticated (that might be the fact that the V60 had done 106,000 miles on the original suspension). The instant response from the dual motors is insane and like nothing I’ve ever experienced before and for something that weighs over 2.25 tonnes it doesn’t roll and fall apart when it sees a bend like I thought it might.

So onto the next chapter! The private plate will be going on when I get the documents back for the car and the plate.

Wow @rica_engineering. You really know how to wake a car up! Had some issues with unlocking the VEA due to a poor connection with the ECU, but after some quick replies from RICA, even after hours, I was sorted. The V60 now drives like my old manual S60 D4 did. Especially in the lower gears, no torque limits now so really accelerates a whole lot better than it used to. The gearbox tune has completely changed the car; faster shifts in manual and sport mode, holds onto the gears for longer around 30mph in anticipation of sudden acceleration and the box now downshifts to help with engine breaking when just in normal ‘drive’. Wow. Feels like a new car. Well impressed!
