Last night at Ascent Lounge, Nick Storm, Dela, Kiki, Greg and I wanted to do something different.

With the ESPYs in New York for the first time in over 15 years, we were inspired by what they represent. While the ESPYs celebrate incredible athletes, we wanted to create The Night Before as a moment to recognize some of the best behind the scenes in sports and entertainment.

It was an honor to celebrate and toast the accomplishments of Monica McNutt and Javon Phillips. These are two people we’ve had the privilege of knowing who have made a real impact in the sports and entertainment. I’m proud to call them friends and, whether they know it or not, mentors.

What makes them special is not just what they have accomplished professionally. It is how they show up for people, the impact they make, and the countless lives they have touched. They never seek recognition for those moments. They simply do it because they genuinely care.

We love you Keep shining and inspiring, Monica and Javon.

What my crew and I love most is celebrating people, not just for what they accomplish in their careers, but for who they are as human beings. That is what it is all about.

Can’t wait to run it back.
