Trail running advice needed (so tagging people who run trails)

This is the forecast for my first trail race on Sunday. It’s at the Tosahatchee Wildlife Management area In Christmas,FL which is basically a swamp. Knowing I will be wet the whole time my question is will it be better to wear toe socks with calf sleeves to try to prevent blisters or compression knee socks to try to keep critters off my ankles? Also, will using Vaseline on my feet help protect them from being destroyed (because they will be wet the whole time)? Baring getting lost I should only be out there between 2 and 2 1/2 hours

On a side note I’m not too upset that it will be raining the whole time.

If you are running Forgotten Florida 50 or 100 miler I will be at the Bronson aid station on Saturday around miles 22 and 27. Say hi to me

The year of 2022 has been a big one for Gregory Ryan, in this year he has taken on two 100 miler's and several other awesome trail races! And talk about taking on the 100 mile head on!

Trail races like the Forgotten Florida and the Palm Bluff 50k! In 2021, he also did the Bryce Canyon 50 Miler. But, as for this year in the 100 mile, Gregory took on the Yeti 100 out in Washington with a time of 27:17:33... He also took on this year's Daytona 100, get got that Belt Buckle with a time of 27:49:41.

It was awesome to get him on and chat about the Yeti 100, Sleeping during 100 milers, and how his race went down at Daytona!

#throwbackthursday post

2020 Dopey Challenge was the last Disney race weekend we ran before the pandemic hit. I still was able to run the following month RnR NOLA with friends. As for this race weekend though, I am so glad I enjoyed the race weekend. Every Dopey to that point had been great. Although there were parts I ran by myself, the entire race weekend was filled with fun memories.

Our beautiful day at Castway Cay! @greginorl ran the 5k while I biked it, then we had lunch, I snorkeled, and just relaxed in the sunshine! #disneycruiseline #disneycruise #instadisney #disneygram #castwaycay #travel @disneyparks @disneycruiseline

We need your advice. We signed up for all three races when registration opened for Run Disney Wine and Dine 2022.

Since that time, a relative was diagnosed with cancer and is going through treatment at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa and we need to make sure we are with him during treatment.

This round of treatment ends late Thursday, when we were initally planning on being up at the RunDisney Expo to pick up our bibs for the 5K to be run on Friday.

We are now arriving late Thursday night, well after the expo is closed. We just can’t make it there to pickup on Thursday.

We know we can pick them up for the 10K and Half on Friday at the expo, no problem. It’s the 5K that’s the question.

We’ve been in communication with RunDisney, and they have said in the past they’ve had a Runner Relations booth the morning of the 5K for just picking up a bib to accomodate travel delays, however, they cannot guarantee that this year. They might. They might not. And even in this unexpected situation no refund for the 5K. We knew their policy when we signed up, so we understand that, of course.

But… do you think we should show up the morning of the 5K and try to get our bibs to run it or skip it all together just in case we get turned away? We don’t want to start off putting a damper of disappointment on the whole weekend, so we are not sure what to do.

Any advice would be appreciated. We always want to participate in the awesome experience of all the races we register for at @rundisney. It would be such a big lift after making it through Hurricane Ian and at this time with the ongoing tough treatment since the cancer diagnosis. ❤️🙏
