NEVER OFF, by GREGORIO MATTIOCCO

When everything changes, what truly matters remains.

Never Off tells the story of a modern-day diva trying to escape the siege of paparazzi gathered outside her hotel. Taking refuge in the hidden, unseen corners of the building, she encounters a chambermaid and makes an impulsive, liberating gesture: an exchange of identities.

Clothes, jewelry, status. Everything can be replaced. Everything can be left behind. But when it comes time to take off her shoes, hesitation meets awareness. The Hogan Olympia sneakers remain on her feet. They are the one thing she is unwilling to let go of.

Structured as a constant chase between visibility and anonymity, Never Off uses the language of cinema to explore the concept of contemporary identity. In a world dominated by the gaze of others, the Hogan Olympia sneakers become the story’s only constant: not an accessory, but a trait of character; not a styling choice, but a declaration of authenticity.

Because what truly defines us is not the image we project, but what we choose not to let go of.
