Château de Gressoux ‘26 I brought my canvases, paint and no plan. How the surroundings slowly started to filter themselves through delays. The paint showing me what I’ve seen that day, what I need to know. the château in the French countryside opens to creation, people, togetherness and celebration in summer, and is now settled into quiet winter hibernation beneath endlessly beautiful skies.

Last year, I experienced a life changing Odyssey - a 36 hour transformative experience that was created for and about me with so much love by 15 people who gathered from around the world for the @ow.experiences masterclass.⁣ ⁣ You can now hear the whole story in a brand new podcast episode that I recorded with the absolutely magnificent @selinathecoach on her podcast Another Way - link is in my bio.⁣ ⁣ It’s a long one - two hours - but believe me, the utter vastness of this experience deserves it.⁣ ⁣ Many of you have asked me what happened in my Odyssey.⁣ ⁣ And while I really have really truly appreciated your interest, I’ve had to ask you all to wait for this podcast, as doing it justice requires a proper chunk of time.⁣ ⁣ This is why I have refrained from talking about my Odyssey until now, because to try to convey its magic and majesty in a neat and tidy anecdote, one which I would likely end up repeating out of convenience when anyone wanted the headlines, would have robbed the whole thing of its full power.⁣ ⁣ So when people DID ask me what it was like, I first told them this very podcast would be coming out in due course…⁣ ⁣ And in the meantime, if they wanted to understand not with their head but with their heart, I would direct them to listen to this track that not only became the inspiration for @aydenleroux ’s title of my Odyssey - ‘There are mountains underneath us’ by VLMV - but somehow conveys the beauty, grief and hope and longing it contained.⁣ ⁣ And where words and music are not enough, we have the photos, captured by some of the extraordinary cohort of international artists who dedicated their time and energy to creating this gift beyond all imaginable gifts for me. ⁣ ⁣ 1. Tap root tree moment - @kristenwittephd⁣ 2. Waffle van with @alextodaro created by @nalpy - @aydenleroux⁣ 3. Womb room - @amysegreti⁣ 4. Chateau - @aydenleroux⁣ 5. Nap van - @nalpy⁣ 6. 4.5 years ago, 7 months pregnant, I flew across the Atlantic to take part in a life-changing Master Class with @ow.experiences There I learnt tools & techniques in the art of Experience Design which have revolutionised how I make what I make. I learnt from the Masters @an.abode.of.snow and @aydenleroux but I also learnt tons from my fellow Fellows too. Living, working and playing together for a week in a foreign land bonds people in a unique way. I went on to make a piece of highly personalised immersive theatre called “Souvenir” - the piece of work I am most proud of. My rehearsal process was transformed, as was my respect and appreciation of the importance of the audience’s role in the crafting of experience. 3 years later, I was honoured to be co-running the Master Class in Portugal, and I’m thrilled I’ll be doing so again this time in France come May. When working with artists across disciplines, you’re constantly absorbing new frames of thought. Both in Rochester in 2019 and Portugal in 2022, a beautiful, deeply moving piece of work was created as a result of the Master Classes, pieces that were richer for being tapestries of multiple disciplines. In May - together with @aydenleroux - we’ll unpack 20 years of Odyssey Works’ methodologies in creating highly personalised experiences. Will you be joining us…? Application deadline is this coming Monday (15 January 2024). Link in bio ✨
