Today’s Curated Artist Connections brings you an exploration of sculpted manifestations, presenting artworks that delve into physical manifestations of nostalgia, whimsy, fear, and more. These artists work with different media, truly exemplifying SAICs interdisciplinary possibilities, in their processes they produce sculpted forms that represent stories and feelings we all might recognize. These works are rendered physical representations of feelings and engage with the viewer through playfulness and a sense of unease; these artists use traditional methods with unconventional subjects, challenging the constraints of sculpture. Through experiencing these works we are invited to dig into our own memories and feelings, and maybe even play a little bit.

Congratulations to all our fantastic capstone students on the successful completion of their BFA projects!
.
.
It’s always amazing to see the hard work from our capstone students each year- and this year was no exception! All the students made such large and beautiful work! This BFA show contains almost 15 pieces made in the ceramics department, the most we’ve seen in a long time!

So many things caught my attention at the @saicpics Spring Art Sale. From little sculpted 🐈 and 🐰, pottery, carved wood, and more.
SAIC offers interdisciplinary studies so this is just a tiny snippet of what students are creating. I'm going back downtown to check out the spring gallery exhibits, including the BFA show.
