From far away the wind brings solemn sound of a bell... this sound brings no comfort for those who hear it... it brings dread and promise of rot and decay...

It has been a while.....
In the dark marshes any splash of water makes one nervous, yet everyone prays not to hear a sound of rusted metal plates grinding against each other. That would be the sound of rotswords moving your way....

I was asked a lot about the rusted armor on my Sloven Knights so i decided to make a little video tutorial.

1) Light color sponging is the first step, focusing on edges and most exposed areas where chipping is most likely to occur.
2) Inside those light spots, I add dark brown that represents darker corroded metal underneath.
3) Overall dark brown oil wash (I use Vandyke Brown).
4) Clean up the was with mineral spirit (I use Tamiya x-20)
5) Enamel streaking rust product applied directly on top of chipping and on open areas I make streak lines.
6) Final clean up with x-20. I wash out edges of the rust stains to make them look natural and in scale.
Rust streaks i washout from both sides to make it look more realistic.

It's the first time I do such a thing so any feedback is very welcome (i planned to do it with a voice over but im a little sick at the moment so maybe next time)

My Sniper Priest Jæger (Hunter) from my Erie Ranger warband.
One of the smallest minis I ever had to paint so far! I really loved how he turned out!

I lightly sprayed on AKS puddle effects onto the lower part of his robes to give a texture of soaked clothing.

My Anti Tank Communicant Søger (the one who searches). He is a mercenary for higher and has been added to my Erie Rangers Warband of New Antioch faction.

For his base I used real gravel and stones I found in my backyard. For the Verdigris effect on his armour, I used Villainy Inks Decay Of Death! I really love the pop of colour it gives to the model!

“It didn’t happen in a single moment—no grand betrayal, no fiery sermon. Just little things, day after day. Promises broken, orders that made no sense, men left to die because some officer wanted a medal. We started grumbling in the trenches, then laughing at the prayers, then skipping them altogether. The Commissar stopped looking us in the eye. Supplies ran thin, and the vox kept spitting lies about victories we knew were defeats. Every cut was small, but they bled us dry, until one day we realized we weren’t fighting for the Imperium anymore—we were fighting for each other. And when the choice came, it wasn’t even a choice.”

“They called it corpse starch back then, neat little bricks of the dead, pressed and purified so we could march another day. We never asked whose bones fed the grinder, never cared whose flesh filled our bellies—because the Munitorum said it was clean, said it was righteous. Now they burn, and I eat, and suddenly I’m the heretic? Tell me what’s different. Fire or factory, ash or ration, it’s all the same meat in the end. At least now I know the names of the ones who keep me alive. And gods help me, the smell—rich, smoky, real—is a feast compared to those tasteless grey cubes they shoved at us in the mess.”

Stalking the empty corridors of long abandoned hospital one can find smth they never expected... a reason why this place is desolate... all those patients were a great sacrifice...

Managed to finish this one on time for Horror of the Flesh challenge from @conclave_obscura
Not too much flesh and gore, but i wanted it to be a bit more subtle more from a perspective of someone observing the aftermath of a bloody demon orgy. Now hiding from those demons who's appetite can never be satisfied. All of this came from a single look on this amazing model from @bestiarum.games so much character in the pose alone 🫀
