life imitates meme, again! (reverse chronological order)

super excited to share the 2nd release of the @maketechnoblackagain hat in collaboration with @gritcreative - celebrating the origins of Techno and its roots in cities like Detroit and the African-American working class experience. Paired with the hat is a retrospective mix by rhythmanalyst and media theorist @clinicalpoetics. 20% of revenues will be donated to Living Arts ( @livingartsdetroit ), a Detroit-based youth arts nonprofit. The hat and mix are revisionist gestures and negative enforcers of appropriation and misconstrued history.

Really excited to share the Make Techno Black Again campaign powered by @hecha_nyc and @gritcreative. I’ve composed a mix under my Speaker Music moniker to commemorate the 2nd release of the hat. The hat and mix are revisionist gestures and negative enforcers of appropriation and misconstrued histories. Techno is a black music made with labor and dejection in mind; assembly line music at its most beautiful and gritty.
