Khalifa is a Malayalam action-crime thriller directed by Vysakh and starring Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead role. The story follows Mambarakkal Aamir Ali, a man who initially wants to live a peaceful family life but becomes connected to his family's dangerous criminal past.

Aamir's grandfather, Mambarakkal Ahmed Ali, was once a powerful figure involved in a major gold-smuggling network. Aamir's father, Yunus Ali, chooses an honest life and keeps his family away from that world. However, circumstances and enemies connected to the family's past eventually force Aamir to confront the legacy he tried to escape.

As the story progresses, Aamir becomes increasingly powerful and enters the world of crime, facing dangerous rivals and dealing with betrayal, revenge, and family conflicts. The story expands beyond Kerala into the Gulf and Britain, making Aamir's journey much larger than a local gangster story.

Mohanlal plays Ahmed Ali, Aamir's grandfather, whose past is crucial to understanding the family's present problems. The movie focuses on family legacy, revenge, power, crime and transformation. Since Khalifa is planned as a two-part story, the first part establishes Aamir's rise and the mysteries surrounding his family, while leaving major conflicts for the continuation.

Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil (often abbreviated as TTT) is the current Pongal 2026 hit that's taking Kollywood by storm! This Tamil comedy-drama (with elements of political satire and family chaos) released on January 15, 2026, and it's emerging as the surprise winner of the festival season. Directed by Nithish Sahadev (making his Tamil debut after the acclaimed Malayalam film Falimy), it stars Jiiva in a strong comeback role as Jeevarathnam, a village panchayat president who gets pulled into a messy family feud during a wedding.

“Happiest version of me—always with my right ones.”
This line reflects the idea that true happiness isn’t about places or possessions, but about people. It highlights how being surrounded by the right ones—those who understand, support, and accept you—brings out your most genuine and joyful self. The quote celebrates meaningful connections and reminds us that real happiness grows in the presence of the right company.
