What’s familiar folds into the next experience. It carries bits of where we’ve been and makes room for where we’re going. Gwen Settle’s paintings loosen the instinct to categorize. What matters is how it feels to be present with her art. Nichole Gronvold Roller gathers the details of daily life: architecture, gardens, pattern, and design. These fragments are transformed into compositions that feel both familiar and newly discovered. Some Things Soften is on exhibit until August 28th. BoxHeart Gallery | 4523 Liberty Avenue | Open to all. #boxheartgallery #inmygallery #contemporaryart #somethingssoften

In Nichole Gronvold Roller's artwork, geometry never remains purely geometric. A striped plane becomes a folded surface. A decorative motif becomes architecture. Her paintings emerge from the act of looking closely at the world and discovering that the categories separating design, ornament, or structure are far more porous than they appear. We are two weeks out from opening our Artist Retreat, and the walls are already alive! We've spent the weekend framing and hanging gifts left behind by visiting artists including paintings, photographs, sculptures, books, and albums. They are artifacts from a growing global community of creatives who've passed through these doors. They're more than decor. They're a kind of muse in the walls. A living conversation between the artists who came before and those yet to arrive. We're deeply grateful for every piece left behind. The Retreat carries their energy forward. #everwoodfarmstead #artistretreat

Hi everyone! Due to life circumstances this past year, we have had our last official show of the year but I had a few ideas on how we could help local artists! Our lease runs through February and we’re looking for artists (single or groups) that would like to show in the gallery. We could help with an opening, marketing, and help with de-Install and install, however you and/or your group would have to help gallery sit. There’s space to have a small studio/ work area as you gallery sit or just relax and enjoy the gorgeous space. I am also open to subleasing the space and being more hands off too if someone would like a low-risk try at running a gallery for a few months! It’s broken my heart that the space has been empty the last months and I’d love to re-energize the space. I have been working full time at a day job to get the lease covered and between family time and that just don’t have the bandwidth I did previously. We are thinking of moving the gallery to an exciting destination outside of Milwaukee soon though! Looking forward to new beginnings. AND we will still have our online presence through ARTSY! We appreciate all the love and support from you all! Contact me via email for more details kendrabulgrin@mac.com or DM Thank you! 💕🖼️💕☀️
