Next up in our Fun ’N Sun 2026 series: a closer look at California growers and American-grown flowers. 🌸

In Part 2, @Rodi_Groot, Founder of @GrootInFlowers, and F.J. Trzuskowski, Vice President of Farms at @CFGreens, share what makes California and American-grown flowers unique in today’s marketplace.

From small family farms and distinct microclimates to specialty products and domestic production, their conversation highlights the people and growing conditions behind these flowers.

They also get into the realities growers are navigating today—including labor, weather, technology, changing crops, and the constant need to adapt.

This is Part 2 of three special conversations from Fun ’N Sun 2026—with one more perspective still to come.

At the 85th Fun ’N Sun Floral Convention in Pasadena, American Grown Flowers partner farms showcased an incredible range of California, Oregon, Florida & Virginia grown flowers and foliage, highlighting the seasonality, diversity and quality our domestic growers bring to the floral marketplace.

We were proud to see these farms showcasing the best of Shay’s in season now: @oceanbreezefarmsca @channelislandsflowers @camflorinc @bloomiaflowers @golden_state_flowers @kendall_farms @cfgreens @greenvalleyfloral_1973 @grootinflowers @regionalfarms @mellanoandcompany @mobifloral @pyramid.flowers

The convention also marked an important new chapter for the industry.

After 85 years, @calflowers_association officially became the American Floral Alliance, a new national identity reflecting an organization that has grown far beyond its California roots and now connects growers, wholesalers, retailers, suppliers, transportation professionals, educators, designers and industry partners across the country.

For American Grown Flowers, we were especially proud to see so many of our partner farms represented and their flowers taking center stage throughout the convention. It was a beautiful reminder of the incredible diversity being grown right here in the U.S. and the importance of continuing to support the farms behind those flowers.

Congratulations to the American Floral Alliance on this exciting next chapter - and to the growers who continue to move our industry forward and show what American Grown can look like in every season.

Back home after 3 amazing days in Pasadena meeting and connecting with the very best in the floral industry. Was great to see our flowers in the LA flower market and throughout the event. Some amazing designers created stunning arrangements. Thankful for everyone who took time to connect with me over the conference. Missed making some connections but maybe next time. I came home with lots of new contacts and ideas going through my head. Thank you @calflowers_association for the amazing conference already look forward to next one. #funnsun #fns2026 #calflowers #americanfloralalliance

We had a blast together at Fun 'N Sun! There were far too many incredible moments (and people) to fit into one post, so we’ll be sharing some of our favorites in the weeks ahead.

THANK YOU to our attendees, sponsors, donors, designers, partners, and friends who made it all possible. Time together like this reminds us of just how special our industry truly is.

What was your favorite memory from the week?
