Who could talk about the project better than the people living in it.
When I shoot an architectural video I always make sure to interview the client as well.
What did they want? How did they experience the long process of building a house, or in the case of this video, an amazing extension.
Hearing it from them makes the video resonate better with a future, potential client.

Then what shall you do with an architectural video?
Make sure not to bury it on a hard drive. This video should be front and centre on your website, so when a visitor lands on your page, they get the chance to discover who you are and decide risk-free if your vibes matches theirs.
Then by the time they pick up the phone, they feel like they already know you. And that’s priceless.

Custom Victorian Ash curved collar tie 🔨

Originally, we were going to outsource this one, but decided to give it a crack ourselves — and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out.

Using epoxy glue, we laminated and bent Victorian Ash boards around our custom form jig to create these two beautiful curved beams.

A bit of patience, plenty of clamps and a whole lot of careful work, and they came out even better than we imagined.

Pretty stoked with this one. 🔨

Light-filled, considered and quietly connected to everything around it.

Shadow House by @grotto.studio is a living experience bathed in natural light and embraced by the landscape, conceived as an exercise in thoughtful design, both environmentally and experientially. The home’s environmentally conscious construction allows its clients to feel genuinely inspired by where they live, while staying aware of what it means to live well, for themselves and for the place they call home.

Work in Progress, Hamelin Bay for @place_construction. Winter in Hamelin Bay hits different. 🌊🌧️ Framing this one through the rain, wind and our fair share of sunny days.

Most homeowners think modern design means one look. These five projects prove otherwise.

A double fronted Victorian terrace, a 1900s cottage, a new build townhouse, a ridgeline site and a luxury development, each taken somewhere completely different. Curved concrete wings beside charred timber additions. Mediterranean inspired palettes meeting mountain facing silhouettes. What unites them is restraint, material honesty and a willingness to let modern design solve problems that older layouts could not.

Not every Little Castles home starts in a factory or inside a shipping container.

This one is a custom-designed small home, created specifically for a challenging corner block with a steep slope, rock beneath the surface, and a unique triangular building envelope shaped by the site and council setbacks.

Rather than fighting the constraints, we embraced them.

The result is a 100m² ground floor home with a 49m² mezzanine, featuring a striking non-geometric roofline that creates soaring ceilings, floods the home with natural light, and makes every square metre feel bigger than it is.

This is a great example of collaboration with @archive.office and @grotto.studio to bring this vision to life!

Great design isn’t about building bigger… it’s about building smarter.

Construction starts soon, with completion expected in 2027, and we’ll be sharing the entire journey—from site works and structural framing through to the finished home.

Follow along and watch this Little Castle come to life.
