Third trimester lower body sessions 🤎🤰🏼

As I move further along in my pregnancy, my training is evolving with me.

I’ve swapped some of my heavier barbell lifts for lighter, more functional exercises that focus on supporting my spine, maintaining hip mobility, and helping me move well as my body continues to change.

And no, this isn’t because heavy lifting is bad or unsafe during pregnancy! It’s simply about listening to my body and adapting my training to my needs.

Having scoliosis means I’m also mindful of how my changing posture, growing bump and shifting centre of gravity affect my spine and overall movement. What worked for me before pregnancy might not be what serves me best in every trimester, and that’s okay. 🤍

Pregnancy training isn’t about pushing through to prove you’re still strong. It’s about learning how to train with your changing body.

Heavy lifting can be appropriate during pregnancy for many women, depending on their experience, health and individual circumstances. Always consult your healthcare provider and, where appropriate, a pelvic health or pregnancy-informed physiotherapist to determine what’s right for you.

The goal isn’t to stop moving. It’s to keep moving in a way that supports you and your baby. ✨

Different venue. Different partner in crime. SAME DEADLY DOZEN energy! 💪🏼🏃🏼‍♀️
Taking the chaos to @ground.stb in Stellenbosch and getting that simulation DONE. Because when life postpones your race… you make your own starting line! 🍋🔥
The grind doesn’t get postponed. 👊🏼

Deadly Dozen postponed? 💔😭 Not the news we wanted… but we don’t do all dressed up with nowhere to go! 😂🔥
So I put on my super suit and took the disappointment straight to Ground Gym, Stellenbosch for Deadly Dozen simulation. 💪🏼🍋
Plans change. The mission doesn’t. 🫡
