SA Nationals 🇿🇦🎾

An absolutely brilliant experience being the youngest player competing in the first ever SA Nationals @padel365_cpt 💕

Loved getting to share the court with my friend @forzacaty in the advanced Ladies category and play against more experienced players throughout the whole weekend. We even managed to win 3 of our 4 matches and win our section of the category 👏🔥

Watching some of the elite ladies play was honestly so inspiring too and definitely made me want to work even harder to get to that level one day 📈 .

And it was super cool getting to support my coach @jackiebooth462 in the final too 💕 🥳 She played so brilliantly with her partner @mikayla.plitt (it was great to meet you)💃 Thanks to @lingesteenkamp and @debbie_v_aswegen for taking the time to chat with me before the final and well done on taking the win 🏆 - the level of play was insane and so inspiring for us juniors ⚡️

So much to take away from this weekend and cant wait for more 😌

That’s a wrap on a fantastic weekend at the inaugural Growthpoint SA National Padel Championships, hosted by Padel 365.

We were delighted to be the sustainability partner and to receive a generous R35,000 donation towards our work turning used padel balls into playground equipment and learning tools for young children in under-resourced communities.

Thank you to Padel 365, Growthpoint and everyone who helped make this possible. Having the padel community get behind what we do means a great deal, and this contribution will help us reach more children through play.

Congratulations to the players and organisers on a brilliant first championship. We loved being part of it.

Recycle. Upcycle. Uplift. 🎾♻️

This week, we marked the official handover of our GBCSA plaque, celebrating Net Zero Carbon Level 2 certification for our Cape Town office, on top of the 5 Star Green Star Office Design rating it already held.

The easier path would have been a clean site and a shorter timeline elsewhere. Instead, we kept the concrete already standing on this stretch of the Foreshore, once powered by coal from the old Dock Road and Table Bay power stations, and rebuilt it into a building that now draws most of its grid electricity from renewable energy, wheeled in from a hydro plant. Keeping the existing structure alone saved three years' worth of operational carbon.

In 2021, Ninety One became the first South African-founded investment manager to sign the Net Zero Asset Managers Initiative, committing to work towards net zero by 2050. This building is what that commitment looks like in practice, one that had to hold up against our own reality, not just our clients'.

None of this happens without Growthpoint, who took on the harder version of this project so this corner of Cape Town could get a building that reflects where the city, and this industry, need to go.

Thank you to Norbert Sasse and the Growthpoint team for a partnership spanning more than two decades, and to everyone who made today's handover possible.

We could have moved. We chose to come home instead, and bring that home in line with what we stand for.

Ninety One’s H/O │ 2026’s ‘Interiors Development’ and ‘Overall Sustainability’ awards winner – SAPOA Property Awards for Innovative Excellence

A comprehensive base-build refurbishment of Ninety One’s H/O has transformed a tired 12 130m² commercial building on Cape Town’s Foreshore into one of the city’s greatest workplaces.

Rather than demolishing and rebuilding, the existing reinforced concrete structure was retained and upgraded, saving embodied carbon equivalent to approx. two years of operational emissions.

The building’s central atrium was reinvented as the heart of the workplace. Its original skylight was replaced with a new south-facing sawtooth roof, while former escalators gave way to a sculptural circulation staircase.

Refurbished and additional lifts were carefully reorganised around the atrium to create effortless vertical movement and connectivity.

A high-performance flush-glazed façade, energy-efficient displacement air-con, rooftop solar plant and a completely renewed suite of efficient building services significantly reduce energy consumption and operational carbon, advancing the building towards Net Zero.

Achieving a 5-Star Green Star rating, the project demonstrates how adaptive reuse can deliver design excellence, sustainability and enduring commercial value.

Last weekend, Peak Wellness was courtside at the Growthpoint SA Padel Nationals, and what a weekend it was! 🎾

Our sports massage therapists kept players moving, helping them loosen up between matches, ease tight muscles, and recover fast so they could bring their best game to the court. Big thanks to the players, organisers and everyone who stopped by for a rubdown. 💆‍♂️

Round 2 is this weekend, 17 & 18 October, and we'll be there again. Playing? Come find us for a sports massage and give your body the recovery it deserves. 💪

See you on court!

An unforgettable Munich experience for Johan! 🇩🇪🍻

From 18 - 24 September 2026, Johan had the opportunity to visit Munich, Germany, on an incentive trip awarded by Growthpoint Properties in recognition of a transaction he successfully concluded earlier this year.

Growthpoint treated the group to an incredible itinerary, including dinner at the renowned Augustiner Stammhaus, a visit to Zugspitze in the Alps, nearly 3,000 metres above sea level, and time exploring Munich's historic Old Town. The spectacular mountain views and lunch overlooking the Alps were particular highlights.

Of course, no trip to Munich in September would be complete without Oktoberfest! The group enjoyed the beer, lively atmosphere and traditional German attire, along with a guided tour of Bayern Munich's stadium.

The final day was spent enjoying local food, sightseeing and some last-minute shopping before heading home.

Beyond the sightseeing and celebrations, this trip was a wonderful recognition of Johan's hard work and a successful commercial property transaction.

"A heartfelt thank you to Growthpoint Properties for your generosity, hospitality and everything you did to make this trip so special. I returned home with wonderful memories and friendships that will last a lifetime.

Prost, and thank you!" - Johan
