Small businesses are the backbone of our community, and they deserve our support and patronage. This month I’m excited to start an effort to recognize a small business each month based on your nominations. I’m pleased to recognize Grub in West Nyack as our November 2025 Small Business of the Month. Grub was opened by Waree in 2018 on West Nyack Road and eventually moved to a larger location just down the street at the Village Square. Grub’s asian-fusion cuisine has grown to be a busy, popular local favorite of many families, including mine. Waree’s story as an entrepreneur is an inspiring one, and I encourage you to visit Grub soon!

Thank you so much to @grubbywaree for allowing me to job shadow this past week. It was an unforgettable experience.

From rushing to buy ingredients at Restaurant Depot to packing 6 take-out orders at once, this whirlwind of experiences has truly helped me grow as an aspiring chef. I gained so many invaluable insights on what it takes to run a restaurant. Particularly, the need to pay attention—to the consistency of your staff, the demands of your customers, and the meticulous details you put into the dishes you are serving.
