I posted this on the other site two days ago and got a few hundred comments. The results were not what you might think, or at least I’d have thought. Pretty split. I’ve learned that this brand (potential brand?) does indeed have a female founder, but I would assume that it’s being contract brewed. TIGHT END GAME: The Kelce family has been making big moves this year in consumer goods 👀 🏈 from the launch this week of Travis Kelce's Kitchen refrigerated meals at Walmart, to Donna's small batch collab with KIND for a mom approved game day snack, to Campbell's featuring Travis alongside his brother Jason and Donna in an ad campaign. I'm excited to see what other consumer products this family creates (or inspires) within the New Americana food genre. My friend Mark Gallo noted Travis' other brand partners like Casa Azul Spirits that can be been seen in his hand or in the background of multiple photos inside Taylor's skybox at his games. A strong celebrity partnership *is* a walking ad - consumers need to see the alignment multiple times in multiple ways before making a purchase. ...And then there was the Seemingly Ranch flavor Kraft swiftly created when Taylor mixed ranch and ketchup at a Chiefs game.

With tomorrow being the end of our July madness, and Nash’s official 7th bday, we put our epic month of July to rest after over 12 bdays, 4 epic bday parties, 2 silent discos, many family visits, one super Mario trip, a visit to West Hollywood, many trials and tribulations and a partrich and a paratree (or whatever that saying is). These beers are from @hanabilager, which is a new-ish lager focused brewery in Napa, CA. Hanabi sets out to make what they call “grain-forward” lagers. Like how breweries could be “hop-forward” in focus or even “malt-forward” relying on the malting process, they try to pull their flavor from the grain itself. Love it. These were given to me by my buddy @guhlo who I always visit with when I’m in Sacramento. He’s a must follow on Twitter if you’re interested in the wider beverage industry, beyond just beer. We were finishing up having beers at Final Gravity (@finalgravityroseville) over Thanksgiving and he runs to his car to get me these two beers as a gift. I stuck around and chatted with the bartender (@benji_allgood) who asked about the bottles, so I explained what little I knew at the time. Turns out he is actually in the process of opening a lager brewery of his own in Sacramento called @geisthausbeer. He hadn’t heard anything about Hanabi but told me after that they got brought up again shortly after I left the bar. Fun coincidences all around.
