The stormy weather finally caught up with us in #Bosnia. Mind, BWOs are well known to favour such conditions, when they remain under the radar of predators. And whilst the hatch wasn’t biblical, emerging duns tend to remain trapped in the surface film for longer in such nasty weather.

Fashioned on a size 18 @fulling_mill Ideal Trout hook, my olive pearly butt worked its magic when tethered to a 0.09mm tippet.

Such flimsy mono might seem foolhardy when hefty grayling are in the offing. Yet the @guidelineflyfish LPX Tactical 9’9” 2-weight offers plenty of protection when it comes to bossing headstrong fish.

Freshie from the main vein- this one’s been a long time comin’.

Winching a mushroom hunter up a sketchy road (his 4x4 was broken). Steelhead karma 💪

Braeden hooked up to a fog hog.

Caudal peduncle.

A good one.

Wet fly lost its wings.

When your buddy catches a good one, come in behind and swing it again (the best time to catch a steelhead is right after the last one).

Lil’ Bucky.

Braeden’s water master fell victim to his exhaust pipe. He is now a packraft guy.

Deer hair skater (it worked).

The final days of the season @storalaxalodge are behind us.
There were still some reasonably fresh fish entering the river, even at the end of September, giving us the perfect opportunity to put the NT11 single-handed fly rod to work one last time before sending it into the winter-sleep.

If this is the last of the season then it’s a good one to end the season on 🎣🐊
