To my Gunnar,

How can it be to miss someone as soon as they leave?
I could spend days, weeks, months, years, and still miss him for those hours in between.

I used to think it must be insecurity, or deep loneliness within myself. But I think it’s the fact that he makes me feel.

He makes me feel more than present. He makes me feel alive, he makes me feel that living is more important than to die. Warmth, like every enjoyable experience I have endured in his presence.

So I grieve. I grieve those hours in between. I catch myself daydreaming. Daydreaming of 11 o’clock that day were all we did was lay. But it was the laying next to him that didn’t make me feel bitter.

And I guess it’s silly to say, that I think about him 20 out of the 24 hours a day, but I can’t imagine it being any other way.

Because of him, I don’t feel astray, misplaced, or not okay. And for that, I’ll continue to miss him as soon as he leaves and grieve those hours in between.

**happy one year my love**
