Ready for the weekend ⌚️ A collage of two Vanderbilt Baseball photos. On the left, a player in a black Vanderbilt Baseball shirt, batting helmet, and white pants stands ready at bat holding a dark bat in a stadium setting with field lights visible above. On the right, a player in a black Vanderbilt Baseball cap and shirt exchanges a high-five with a teammate during what appears to be pre-game warmups on a sunny day.

⚾️ BLUEBOOK QUICK HIT ⚾️

Today’s Quick Hit features Gunner Skelton, one of the top incoming Freshman in the country at Vanderbilt University

Skelton put together a big summer with the Johnson City Doughboys — earning Appalachian League Player of the Month, a spot on the All-Appalachian League Team, and finishing with a .386 average, 5 HR, 15 RBI and a 1.134 OPS.

Today’s Question:
What mattered most when you chose your school?

Gunner shares what stood out to him during the recruiting process and what ultimately mattered most when making his college decision.

Another great perspective for players going through the recruiting process right now.

Gunner Skelton is one of those people. From being a loyal client in the chair to representing Columbia on one of the biggest stages at Vanderbilt, Gunner has always carried himself with humility, discipline, and respect.

Being Against The Grain is about choosing your own path, staying grounded when opportunities come your way, Gunner represents all of that. ⚾️

We’ve been blessed to watch part of his journey and to have the support of Gunner and his family along the way. From Columbia to Vanderbilt, this is only the beginning.

Keep working. Keep representing. Keep going Against The Grain.
