Meet WIWP writer and actor, Guru Ma 🍎

@guru_ma is a multi faceted creative force from Northampton England currently living in Dallas, Tx. Known mostly for her music, Guru began her career in film and documentaries which expanded to music and curation. She has worked with artists like EARTHGANG, Anderson Pakk, Erykah Badu and Raury. Guru is sure that all of her work is greatly impacted by her personal Journey with God, with most of her works offering a dialogue or thoughts of desiring to know more about why we are here. She knows that she’s been chosen as a vessel for enlightenment that isn’t meant for just one group of people but everyone.

POP UP PLAYS open on December 9th and runs until December 23rd! Ticket link in bio 🎟️✨

AWP was beyond blessed to have the chance to work with friend and artist, YNG on the artwork for this years POP UP PLAYS.

You will have an opportunity to own a piece of this work through our exclusive merch ✨

YNG is multi-disciplinary artist whose expansive portfolio draws inspiration from both the surreal and everyday life. They infuse black identity, culture and queerness in work across a wide array of mediums including digital art, painting, clothing design, and video direction. They’ve held a two week exhibition in collaboration with Audioslut and SHIFT (My Servant’s Master 2021) in Vienna and their work has been featured in Vogue Italia 2022. Earlier this year, AWP announced an open call for script submissions that, if chosen, would be produced into a full theatrical run.

After receiving an overwhelming response to the open call, and reading though several strong bodies of work, we narrowed it down to three powerful plays.

We’ve since been working hard to produce an experience that bridges the gap between organic, God-given creativity and traditional theater roots. 🍎

Join us at @northnodesanctuary in The Cedars for showings December 9th - 23rd for an immersive journey into the worlds of our talented writers’ original works, “STAR, Exit, and Wisdom in Weird Places.”
