✨🇮🇹 COZIEST RESTAURANTS IN AMSTERDAM (PART V) 🇮🇹✨

the homemade pasta spot on the Overtoom that feels like eating at an Italian family’s home, the cutest neighborhood spot open over EIGHT years!! 🥹🫶

Part V of my series sharing the coziest restaurants in the city that also have genuinely great food (it’s not always a given!! 👀), and this one is such a wholesome little gem 🤍

New openings get so much hype, but this is one of those places that’s been quietly serving the neighborhood all these years, and honestly that deserves just as much love 🥹💛

This spot is run by a Roman family, and the name itself comes from the Latin word for the first course of a meal, which tells you how seriously they take the whole ritual of eating 🇮🇹

Everything here is homemade, and their Italian chefs each come from different regions, so the menu pulls traditions, techniques and favorite flavors from all over Italy 👏🏻

Bright colors, soft lighting, generous portions, and a little terrace out front that catches the sun right until it dips 🌞🕯️

Don’t miss:
🍆 Sedanini alla Norma: rich and deeply savory with silky aubergine, basil and salted ricotta, SO comforting
🍅 Bruschetta on crisp Altamura bread with juicy tomatoes, fresh basil, garlic and quality olive oil
🧀 Handmade tagliolini cacio e pepe: creamy pecorino, lots of black pepper, simple & fresh
🍫 Chocolate lava cake with a warm molten heart and vanilla ice cream melting into every bite
☕️ And the tiramisu is properly generous & creamy (as you can see!! 😉)

Op Valentijnsdag wilden we lekker uiteten, maar wel betaalbaar. We vonden dit authentieke italiaanse restaurant met zelfgemaakte pasta’s op de Overtoom. Je proefde dat de sauzen urenlang hadden staan pruttelen en dat de pasta zelfgemaakt was. En zoals echte italianen, eet je je pasta hier alleen met een vork! We konden natuurlijk niet weggaan zonder ons lievelingstoetje: tiramisu!

Want to try delicious Italian food in Amsterdam?

I really like Italian food. I was always obsessed with the spaghetti carbonara and in the Netherlands and Belgium most people make it in the way with a lot of cream. When I went to Italy, I tried the real spaghetti carbonara and it was much more delicious.
This restaurant makes it the real Italian way which reminded me of Italy.
It's called Gustatio Oud West in Amsterdam. The location is next to The Vondelpark.
It is sure a great place to check out if you are in Amsterdam.
