⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

"Nell Gwynn is a beautiful, funny, endearing and empowering rags to riches play full of razor-sharp wit and theatrical humour. It's both a love letter to the art of theatre and to feminism. If you could possibly imagine Brigerton having a love affair with Eliza Dolottle, that's what you'll get with this play"

Creating Nell Gwynn's World... how do you design a world where theatre itself becomes a character?

For designer Jess Curtis, the answer was to embrace everything the Restoration stood for: boldness, joy and theatrical spectacle.

Inspired by the reopening of the theatres in 1660, Jess has created a visually rich production full of sumptuous costumes, painted floors, beautiful textures and playful transformations, all reflecting Nell's extraordinary rise from orange seller to one of England's first celebrated actresses.

"We wanted something that felt alive, not a museum piece."

Read our exclusive interview with Jess and discover how one sketch became an extraordinary production.

🎭 Meet the men who run the theatre...

Power. Politics. Patronage.

Meet Adam Clifford, playing both Lord Arlington and theatre manager Thomas Killigrew, two men helping decide who gets to perform, and who gets left waiting in the wings.
