When I finished this burger the overwhelming taste left in my mouth was smoked bacon.
When you have a bun full of charred smoked bacon, rich beef with bone marrow running through it, American cheese - you need some relief and this burger severely lacked that- the pickles are meant to be in the sauce (at the time I thought separate) but they were so tiny and scarce I could not taste them, I got a slight tang from the sauce but just nowhere near enough. The onions were tiny and completely lost as well.
The Royale with cheese (which I had last time at Hawksmoor) is much better than this.
This is a beautiful restaurant but in my opinion go for the steak, not the burger- which I would not put even in my top 50 in the UK.

My mate @gymwithbigzee said it well- for a bit less there are so many better burgers around.

Shout out to our waiter George @gwatsonofficial who was absolutely brilliant, charming, great service and he has an excellent understanding of food.
