4th place at the Japan pro @ifbb_pro_league_japan_pro and what an end to my comeback season after 6 years of being retired.

After stepping off stage in Korea, I had a lot of doubt in my mind and I’d be lying to say that there weren’t some thoughts of just giving up but I knew I had to finish what I started and I’m so glad that I did.

There were many weeks in between I felt so mentally, physically and emotionally drained, unmotivated and stressed but I continued to push forward and it was all worth it in the end.

This is by far the best package I’ve presented on stage, from my physique and my stage presence and I know I’m only going to get better.

What an amazing show Japan was, from the production, organisation, competitors, the country and most importantly the amount of people who came over to support me 🫶🏽

I have soo many people to thank that I’m going to do a separate post for that but I’d be remiss to not name a few:

Firstly my beautiful now fiancé @gzhou_ this was our first comp prep together and I know how hard that can be on a relationship but you have supported me every step of the way, from your encouragement, understanding, meal preps, picking up the slack around the house when I was too tired and for putting me first many times. I can’t thank and appreciate you enough for that, without you none of this would’ve been possible.

My amazing coach @flexcoach_dean I kept you on your toes with 2 last minute earlier shows, missing weight (height) and some emotional ups and downs but you have continued to be the support I needed and helped me to continually get better. Very happy with the end package and I know with your guidance, we will just continue to get better.

My training partner @louie_fitfocus our sessions help push me to new limits and make the journey a lot more enjoyable. You’ve constantly checked up on me during this prep to see how I’m feeling and showed me so much support , I can’t thank you enough brother.

My biggest win. She said yes 💍🤍

These last few years , I’ve really been able to turn my life around and it’s hugely in part of this amazingly loving and supportive woman I call my best friend and now my fiancé.

I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you but I will spend the rest of my life showing you.

Love you forever & ever baby ❤️

The 5 biggest game changers for me:

- Lifestyle: Learning to make bodybuilding a part of my lifestyle instead of letting it take over my whole life. Being able to not just be a bodybuilder but a partner, friend, coach and business owner too. This has been an important skill to learn, as its one of the reasons why I retired in the first place, I had lost my identity to bodybuilding, instead of letting it be a part of who I am.

- Environment: This includes not only surrounding myself with people and places that are conducive to my goals but also removing myself from situations that aren’t conducive. Bodybuilding can be a very isolating sport, however being able to surround yourself with a team, motivates you, as your goals start to feel bigger than yourself. See points below.

- My partner: I’m blessed to have an amazing partner who is understanding and supportive and is a big integral part of the above two points. She gives me the space and love to be myself which has been massive in my growth and happiness. Plus she is a Masterchef who makes me delicious food, making it easier to stay on diet 😋

- Dialled up training intensity: For the first time I have a regular training partner who helps push me to my limits not only that, it makes training more enjoyable and not so isolating.

- Having a coach: Whilst I’ve managed to get pretty far coaching myself (2x pro cards and 2x top 5 pro finishes), having a coach this past year has been hugely beneficial , whilst I know quite a lot , there is someone who always knows more but that aside, the biggest impact has been to simply not have to think about my own plans, I can just focus on executing, leaving more energy for everything outside of bodybuilding including being the best coach I can be to others and it helps me stay accountable to someone.

Whilst I know not everyone is lucky enough to have the above, I have worked hard and put myself in the best position to have what I have around me and I’m extremely proud of that 🙏🏽

I hope you guys can do the same for yourself and have the transformation you want inside and out.
