The summer of Barbienheimer with Alexa + Magic Speakeasy with Rachel + Yoga in a FLW house + building Rachel a walk-in closet with Noah + a million things BUT most importantly the summer I started playing DnD and learned that friends are the people that will make dumb voices with you <3

Lorem Ipsum, Ohio University’s Graphic Design Thesis Show 2023 For the show, I designed marketing materials inspired by a local movie theater and arcade spot in Athens, Ohio called the “Fun Barn.” The Fun Barn is somewhat of a local icon in Athens as most people have either seen a movie there or are aware of it. I gravitated towards the Fun Barn for my project as I think they are a great business that values the community, family, and positive customer service. I was also excited and intrigued at the idea of working with movie and arcade imagery. Although, the building’s exterior is outdated and they lack a strong online presence. I viewed this as a design challenge for myself. How can I replicate the nostalgic, timeless feel that the Fun Barn has, but in a modern way? How can I create marketing materials that are lively and exciting, but still have that retro feel to them? My vision for the redesign involved working with the quirky and vibrant aesthetic while giving it a refined twist. I drew inspiration from vintage movie posters, 50s diners, pop art, and circus imagery such as the Ringing Bros. My bright, happy, and fresh color choices align with my design theme. I created a movie poster, style guide booklet, logo display, logo stickers, package design, social media graphics and a moodboard. I am so grateful that I got to work alongside some pretty incredible people during this process. And I am so thankful for my classmates, friends and family who supported me the whole way!!
