Dearest Hayden,

Happy 18th Birthday! They truly say time is a thief, and it feels like we blinked and here we are—it is almost impossible to wrap our heads around the fact that you are officially an adult today. You were the one who made us parents, and guiding you, watching you grow, and learning right alongside you has been the single greatest journey of our lives.

Watching you become the thoughtful, funny, determined, and brilliant young man you are today is our proudest joy. As you step into adulthood and begin this next exciting chapter, always remember to trust yourself, stay true to who you are, and stay strong in your faith—letting it anchor you, guide your path, and bring you peace through every season of life. Keep chasing the things that light you up, knowing you have a rare strength and warmth that will carry you far no matter where your dreams take you.

We could not be prouder as you prepare to head off to Penn State. Seeing you take this huge step toward your future fills our hearts with so much excitement and pride. We know you are going to thrive, learn so much, make incredible lifelong memories, and embrace everything that Happy Valley has to offer.

No matter how old you get, how far you travel, or where life leads, we will always be right here in your corner—your biggest fans, cheering you on every single step of the way.

We love you more than words can say. Happy 18th, Hayden—go make this year unforgettable!

With all our love always,
Mom & Dad

Yesterday, we celebrated our Senior swimmer at his last high school swim meet, but really, we were celebrating the incredible memories we’ve made together over the past 18 years. It all started when he was just 6 weeks old at Waterbabies, grew into a lifelong love for swimming, and led to countless laps, swim meets, and cherished memories that we’ll treasure forever. I know your hair is fried, your skin is dry, and your car smells damp all the time 😉, but I hope you remember every lap and early morning with fondness and gratitude.
