‘Memento’, @doitforthegrain’s 5th anniversary exhibition closed last week but I am still so thankful for how our photographic community and neighbours came together.

This was my last exhibition to co-curate with @kennethphoto_ and @hacel.art as I’m stepping down from the Board of Directors to pursue other creative & professional endeavours.

What a ride it has been. I hope this carousel serves as a warm hug to the film photography community in the NCR. Whether we worked together on a project, we exchanged emails or we simply follow each other on IG, I am honoured to have been trusted to help lead this organization and equally be a part of this community.

Please enjoy these pictures (some captured by me and some by others) that I think demonstrate a snippet of the highlights of my involvement with DIFTG over the last few years.

Lots of love and warm wishes,

Mai-Lan

It’s been 3 weeks since the opening of our 5th anniversary exhibition and the feedback has been so heartwarming! We’re humbled by the opportunity to showcase so much local talent and grateful for the photography community that made it happen.

The exhibition will be on display at both venues until Wednesday, July 31st, and we’ll have a little drop-in finissage at Knyota Drinks on Saturday, August 3rd between 1 and 4 pm. That will be your last opportunity to see all of the pieces, and you’ll be able to buy prints, pick up a zine, and maybe bump into some pals! 📷

📚Volume 4 starts now!🎉
📨Subscribers, be sure to check your mailboxes!📫
You can expect a handful of copies available for pick up in a couple weeks from our regular spots ☺️

Wow, so, long time no zine eh? It turns out publishing a zine per month for over a year straight is kinda like running a marathon, and we needed to chug some water and take a nap before the next one. For the foreseeable future, DIFTG will be published monthly 10 times a year so we can spend some energy on other fun projects!

VOLUME 4, wowza! It's the volume 4 community, the volume 4 growth, and the volume 4 inspiration. It's also the volume of limited editions - each issue is now numbered, so when they run out, they're gone for pretty much ever. If you want to make sure you don't miss an issue, be sure to sign up for a subscription at the link in our bio 🔗🌐

This issue was curated the @avamargueritte and wow the pairings are sublime! We received so many fantastic submissions for this issue, it really shows that our region has a ton of talent to be proud of! Featured this month:
