TWO MONTHS

This past month has welcomed cooing, smiling and following us around the room/eye contact. It’s all very hit or miss but we’re excited to see it starting and being intentional!

Especially when I am someone who THRIVES off making people laugh. I can’t wait for this baby to think his mama and daddy are the funniest people alive. Every day will be like a standup/improv show and I’m here for it.

My favorite hometown tradition is going to the Cabarrus County fair.

One of my earliest memories was falling into the water bowl in the petting zoo as a little girl. Jack loves to play midway games. Stoked we get to share this experience with our son 🎡💙

3 weeks today 🎉🥳

On 8/5 we had a great Dr checkup. That day was also Oliver’s original due date. I then realized that 8/5/23 was my bridal shower date. Love when dates feel connected 🥰

Postpartum is A LOT… but I’d take this over pregnancy trimesters any day.

11 days. Yesterday I realized Oliver hit double digits days old and I cried. Happy tears that our baby is here and doing well. But sad because it’s already going by so fast. I’ve never been a fan of the “infant” stage- I love how interactive toddlers are. But I’m infatuated with my infant. Ollie has been an amazing baby so far. Sleeping throughout the night and starting to eat better. Last week we had a Dr visit every day so this week we are focusing on slowing down, being lazy and enjoying the snuggles.

My husband, Jack, truly was the best support partner I could ever imagine. Watching him this past week and a half with our son has been such a gift. He’s a rad dad and already planning Ollie’s first bike. I could go on and on about how wonderful he is and I know will continue to be.

I’m so grateful to my lovely friend Kiesha who was my labor and delivery nurse. She supported me with both her medical experience and love.

My mom stayed with us at the hospital during the entire labor and I’m eternally grateful for her presence and support. Jack’s mom flew in from NY the day of our induction and stayed with us at home the few days, that amount of help will never be forgotten. My sisters and maw maw have been over to help hold the baby so we can catch up on rest ❤️ Our village is strong.

Oliver Thomas Hartje entered the world last night! 9:16pm 7/17/2026. 5lbs 14 ounces and 20inches.

Our little growing family was celebrated with so much love a couple weekends ago. I had been collecting vintage baby planters for years so when it was time to pick a theme I knew it had to be “vintage baby shower”.

Just like our wedding, each little detail had meaning. -centerpieces made using vintage (signed) baby cards
-table cloths and platters from our wedding
-jack’s baby clothes hanging up
-my baby book
-vintage decorations and cups/plates
And more

Grateful for our family and friends that were able to make it and all the wonderful gifts for our precious baby boy!

Thank you to my mom, sisters and mother-in-law for supplying the food and drinks! Love yall!!
