From the braided bun to the roses in her hair, every detail in this shoot is a gesture of remembrance. Larisa doesn’t just represent culture. She dances with it. The folklórico dress she wears was brought from Mexico by her family. It carries lineage in every stitch, spin, and silhouette. Her hair, pulled into a low braided bun and adorned with red roses, reflects the quiet rituals of preparation passed from woman to woman. Her makeup, soft yet bold, holds the colors of the Mexican flag. Pride across her face, worn with care. The earrings, handcrafted by @hadasol, were beaded in the style of traditional serapes. They hold the color and texture of home. Each bead a reflection of memory turned wearable. Nothing in this shoot was placed for effect. Everything worn speaks. Flor de Fuerza means flower of strength. It is the way a woman takes up space while honoring where she comes from. This shoot exists to frame that presence and hold it still, if only for a moment. “Flor de Fuerza: Where Tradition Twirls Into Power” 🇲🇽🖤 Larisa grew up dancing Ballet Folklórico, each performance a way to honor her roots and bring Mexican history to life. In her family, women were the center of everything. They cooked, they guided, they held generations together. They passed down more than values. They passed down movement, meaning, and pride. She wears a traditional dress from Chiapa de Corzo. Its bright floral embroidery represents the region’s rich flora, hand-stitched over deep black fabric said to reflect the jungle. Her earrings, shaped like a Mexican blanket, were made by Hadasol as a tribute to craft and memory. Her hair, braided into a crown and woven with roses by Bailey, echoes the styling of folklórico dancers. Her eyes, painted by Raiza in the colors of the Mexican flag, speak without words. These moments were captured through the beautiful and intuitive lens of Ailene, with concept and direction by Taylor Shine, who shaped the story into a visual tribute to culture, womanhood, and power. In a country where ICE detains and deports with force, embracing culture is not always safe. It is questioned. It is politicized. For Larisa, celebrating where she comes from is a way to protect what matters. Her story is shaped by both joy and resistance. By performance and remembrance. Each one representing a unique story, a different heritage, and the shared strength we all carry. Following that, you’ll see stunning photos captured by our talented photographers @editorialinmotion, @creativepearco & @earthtonefertiti who helped savor the night in time, from moments of fierce posing by our wonderful models with some wearing jaw dropping designs from the talented @archivedd.29 & @liagabrielleatelier, to the intimate moments that brought us all closer together.
