This showed up for review from Bleecker Street. This has won all kinds of awards. I don't know anything else about it besides that. I'll be honest, I really do not like musicals at all so we'll see how it goes with Hadestown. Have YOU heard of this one yet? Any fans of musicals on here???? #bleeckerstreet #hadestown #hadestownbroadway #hadestownthemusical #brettsullivan

She's grateful, out loud, without apology.

Two-time Tony nominee Eva Noblezada (Hadestown, Miss Saigon) on what her job has actually given her — not the fame, not the headlines, but the real stuff. Her words:

"It's a total gift. It's a total blessing to my life."

This is what it looks like to actually love what you do, out loud, without apology. Eva's not just talented — she's genuinely grateful, and that energy is contagious. And this is what real beauty looks like.

Go watch the full conversation — and then go celebrate one thing today you're genuinely grateful for. 🎉

Counter-programming just had its best weekend all year.

While four new (moderately) wide releases fought over the scraps left of the Odyssey crowd, Bleecker Street quietly slotted Hadestown: The Musical into 1,949 theatres and let the numbers do the talking. $9.69m across the weekend. That was more than double what Motor City, Her Private Hell, Pinocchio Unstrung and Jana Nayagan made combined, and not only that, between them they had over a thousand more screens to do it with.

Per theatre, you’re looking at $4,973 for Hadestown against an average of $1,189 across the other four. That’s not a fluke, that’s a distributor reading the slate better than everyone else releasing that weekend. Distributors were always going to struggle prying people away from the Odyssey to watch another film, but to watch a highly rated musical that they wouldn’t get the chance to see live? There was clearly the market for that.
