Rhythmic Roots | Uttar Pradesh | The Making of Maya 🌾 Maya is our seventh song, inspired by the Nirgun Sufi folklore of Uttar Pradesh. 🎶 Rhythmic Roots is a regional series by RAAHEIN Gharana, exploring each state’s native stories, folklore, voices and traditional instruments, bringing them to the world and future music. 🌾 Maya is illusion, magic and divine energy. Yet when hoarded for ego or personal gain, it can lead to spiritual ignorance. The song reminds us that being fully human means caring for others as well as ourselves and contributing to humanity. ✨ Filmed by the Gomti River at Harivansh Baba’s Akshay Wat Aashram, beside a 200-year-old banyan tree and temple. In this divine setting, Maya should lead to enlightenment, not ignorance. Thanks to Khyati Tiwari ji and the Aashram family for their blessings and courtesy. 🙏 We also celebrate each state’s traditional dance. For Uttar Pradesh, it is Kathak. 💃 Flute, sitar, sarangi, dholak, tabla, harmonium and banjo meet bass, drums and keys for a western fusion touch. 🎶 Audio Music Composers: @rishianuj, @nitesh.srivastava08 Lyricist: @kumar_manjul3 Folklore: Nirgun Sufi from Uttar Pradesh 🎤 Vocals Lead Vocal: @rishianuj 🥁 Uttar Pradesh Folk Instruments Flute: Suraj Awasthi Sitar: @sankalp_sitar_official Sarangi: @sarangizeeshan Tabla: @ambuj_percussion Dholak: @rishigrooves Harmonium: @yashgupta.music Banjo: @syedsonu4767, Shakeel Bharti 🎸 Western Fusion Bass & Drums: @abhinavswynenberg Keys: @nitesh.srivastava08 🎧 Audio Production Music Production & Mixing: @abhinavswynenberg Mastering: Gethin John Mastering Studio: @hafod_mastering (U.K.) 💃 Kathak Dance Performers Choreography: @ravii_yadav__ Performers: @gourigoyal_15, @suman_rangta, @ravii_yadav__ 🎬 Video Production Director & DOP: @tusharmahajanofficial Editors: @rakshitmahajanofficial, @tusharmahajanofficial Line Producer: Dinesh Pyasi Costume Sourcing: @blaze_ardent 📩 Want to bring a story like this to your community, event or brand? Mae Sengl newydd Carcharorion, ‘Cawl Llonydd’ allan heddiw, Hydref 09 via I KA CHING Carcharorion’s new single, ‘Cawl Llonydd’ out today, October 09 via I KA CHING  Mae ‘Cawl Llonydd’ gan Carcharorion yn brosiect o ailffurfio caneuon gan Dafydd Owain (Cawl) a Nia Morgan (Llonydd). Rydw i a Gruff Pritchard wedi sbio’n wahanol ar ganeuon ein ffrindiau a’n hoff artistiaid trwy eu addasu i fod yn draciau dawns dyfn. Roedd ystyr dwys y geiriau yn ddylanwad mawr , a rhoddwyd pwyslais ar barchu’r ystyr hwnnw wrth gyfansoddi’r gerddoriaeth, ond gan edrych arnynt drwy ein lens ein hunain. ‘Cawl Llonydd’ by Carcharorion is a project that reimagines a song by Dafydd Owain (‘Cawl’) and by Nia Morgan (‘Llonydd’). Gruff Pritchard and I are back under the name ‘Carcharorion’ as we cast our own perspective on our friends and favourite artists’ tracks, adapting them to be deep, meditative dance tracks. The lyrics and their deep meaning were the inspiration to compose the music as we viewed them through our own lens Diolch @dafowain a @nia22morgan am yr ysbrydoliaeth Thank you Daf and Nia for the inspiration Artwork by Huw Cadwaladr and Richard Chitty @ctrlaltdesigner @ikachingrecords @hafod_mastering @gruffsion
