Three years ago I stepped in as president of @hahmp .. not having any experience in the nonprofit world or even managing an organization. However, I took the nomination. I was voted in and 3 years later ….. I DID THAT! Managed a great team and together we DID THAT too! Now it’s time to finish up my term and let others shine!

Ps this was an amazing full circle moment for me bc I actually was a recipient of this very scholarship about 2 decades ago!!!!!

Saturday at the @cbaldwinhotel for the @hahmp 40th Anniversary Sylvan Rodriguez’s Scholarship Gala.

I’ve been attending this gala since my college days and it felt so good to be back, reconnect with old colleagues and friends, and share this experience with my husband by my side.

And so proud of @virimal who brings this beautiful event to life year after year! 🥰

A LEGACY WORTH CELEBRATING @raulpeimbert

@hahmp Houston’s media community had a special reason to celebrate as Raúl Peimbert ( Senior News Anchor at Televisa Univision 45 (KXLN), was honored with HAHMP’s 2026 Lifetime Achievement Award a meaningful recognition of his contributions to journalism and his connection with the community.

The 2026 Sylvan Rodriguez Scholarship Gala, celebrating HAHMP’s 40th anniversary, brought together the spirit of recognition and opportunity, supporting scholarships for students pursuing their dreams in media and communications. It was an occasion to celebrate an accomplished communicator while helping the next generation begin writing their own stories.

Compadre congratulations, on this well deserved honor! And congratulations to the scholarship recipients whose voices will help shape the future of our industry.
