🚨🎄 SUBMISSIONS NOW OPEN! 🎄🚨 We've opened our performer submission portal for our annual holiday sessions!

Deadline to submit to perform is Oct. 26 at 5PM MT. 🔗 in bio.

This marks the 8th annual Blue Jay Sessions: Holiday Edition series and we are feelin' a little old 😅 but MOSTLY nostalgic thinking back to all the past years of wonderful, lightly festive songs and stories in Calgary. ✨ 2026 shall be no different!

Curated the first-ever Blue Jay Sessions songwriters' residency in Calgary at @elementcalgary and it was pretty darn magical! 🥹

Thanks to the talented songwriters' @lucettesings, @haidee__, @jessiet.official and @elias.james for making the trek to Calgary to write and perform together, and to Element Calgary Downtown hotel and staff for being above-and-beyond hosts for the artists. 👏

@thebluejaysessions turned SEVEN earlier this month (we out here, and we old!), so it felt like a good time to evolve. Moving to a residency format just feels right. Don't worry, we'll still be doing some public events (like in Saskatoon on Sept. 16 & 17 👀🎶) throughout the year, but my focus has always been on building community and encouraging collaboration, and the standard songwriters' circle events didn't feel like they were accomplishing these goals as well as they used to. I legitimately love having to take a hard look at what I'm doing and pushing myself towards something new. I have done it many times in my media career and the evolution of this 🇨🇦 songwriters' series is no different.

I'm looking forward to this evolution of what has been a huge part of my life since 2019. Food, music, art, drag...there really is so much talent out there in Canada, and I'm just trying to celebrate that where I can, always looking for natural intersections along the way. 🙏

Thanks to everyone who has been along for the ride, excited for what's next! ❤️✨

Anyone can get into any room if they really want to. Just read it. Read the book. Get off the chat. Get off the phone. Put away your IG and look into my lens. Just come back to me. How many times do I have to say it without really saying it?
