Hailey Buck is a recent graduate of Richland High School in Pennsylvania. The 5-foot-2 libero and defensive specialist also plays for Ridgetop Volleyball Club. She will play at Lackawanna College. Buck outlined her journey in this Digging Dish.
“I started playing volleyball in seventh grade at the junior high level for school,” she said. “I was 13 years old when I started playing.”
She has been a defensive standout.
“I was a defensive specialist from ninth to 11th grade at the varsity level then libero 12th grade,” she said.
She wanted to play college volleyball.
“I wanted to play at a high level also,” she said.
She enjoys winning and feeding off the sport’s fast-paced and thrilling environment.
“I love the adrenaline rush and excitement of winning,” she said.
She can’t wait to join Lackawanna’s squad.
“The atmosphere and the team looks to be very good this year,” she said.
She is doing her team’s workouts to prepare for camp.
“I’ve been going to the gym since 13 years old with hard-core training, but recently switched to Lackawanna’a volleyball workouts to fit into my routine,” she said.
She offered words of wisdom.
“Don’t doubt yourself because you can get so far if you put in the work,” she said.
