Little things and moments that I have appreciated from the last few months pictured above 🫶🏼

My recent thoughts are as such: when I took an extended break from Instagram, it was honestly such a gift. Being so disconnected and consuming less content made the noise in my brain so much quieter. I can’t stop thinking about 1 Thessalonians 4:11 rn - “and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you,”.

How do you “lead a quiet life” while still engaging with social media? I believe you can do both… but I don’t know exactly what that look like just yet. If anyone has any thoughts, I am here for them !!! 😂 in the meantime, I’ll be trying to figure it out.

My husband went to elementary school with Hailey + Parker. I must be honest, when Hailey reached out to me about shooting her wedding, I was incredibly honored and excited. We’ve run in the same circles over the last few years, and I’ve rarely met someone who is as kind and genuine as she is.

When my husband and I found out we were pregnant, I realized I most likely would have to send someone to shoot her wedding.

We chatted on the phone, and she was nothing but gracious, understanding, and extremely excited for Ean and me.

I ended up sending @kyliefriarphoto to associate for me and @carinmcmillian to second shoot! When I found out I was going to be induced and sent them a text, they immediately put me at ease and told me they had it all covered.

All this to say, I am so thankful for the support and love I experienced throughout my pregnancy and postpartum journey from my photography community and brides. Brides like Hailey are the reason I’m hopeful that I can be both a mom and a photographer. Friends like Kylie and Carin are the reason I’m not panicked about whom I will pass responsibility off to as we continue to grow our family.

If your photographer tells you she is pregnant, please respond graciously, knowing that she is trying to make the best decision for her family. I think we can get so caught up in the day that we forget our vendors are people. Pregnancy is hard. Postpartum is hard. Being a woman is hard. Being a working mom is hard. Please be gracious. We are strong but also human.

I’ll never get over how timeless these photos are. The snow made the day feel like something out of a movie.

I remember learning the term “Protagonist” in elementary school. As I read books with my classmates, it was the character we were all rooting for. The hero of the story. The one we cared most about.

As I think about the stories I was able to tell in 2025, I’d like to highlight my heroes. The women and men who kept my business running. My main characters. The ones I’m rooting for!

Much like the stories I read in elementary school, each wedding taught me something new about myself and the world around me. It’s so special to see the way every couple experiences their wedding day differently and falls in love all over again.

So here are my protagonists and a few words to describe their day.
