Happy Birthday to my Gemini! Josh has the kindest soul, the most curious brain, the most boisterous laugh, and such a beautiful ability to see potential and heart in everyone he meets. He's always down for a new adventure, and he's also a lovely person to have deep conversations and ponder life with. He's ridiculously talented, and works so hard, and deserves every good thing under the sun.

Grateful to be celebrating the adventure buddy who makes friends with all the animals, keeps music in our home, makes people feel so seen, and keeps life fun. @winksua I love you! ❤️

Two years since this magical little dude joined our party!

Bowie is made of pure chaos and stardust, and loves love more than any cat I've ever known. His zoomies are epic, he loves to wrastle his siblings, and he tries to eat everything he shouldn't, but he also can't get through a day without cuddling someone (or chirping at them from atop the fridge, begging for a headbutt). He's the glue that holds our trio of tabbies together, and we love him so much. 🖤 Happy gotcha day, Bowie!

Once upon a time (14 years ago, to be exact)... Two little sweetie-pies made a bunch of very pretty promises to each other.

We celebrated our wedding with a reception in a rad old church building a few hours later, surrounded by friends, family, cupcakes, apples, balloons, DIY decor, and some coloring pages made from our engagement photos. (To my everlasting chagrin, Pinterest got huge mere months after this wedding, so I was relying on my own flustered brain's limited capacity for creativity at the time). I was determined not to spend a ton of money, and some good friends helped us decorate and document the day on the CHEAP. We were scrappy and crafty and we made it work. We totally should've eloped, but we made it work. And we wouldn't have these photos to look at, if we had!

That day is a funny one to look back on. Our wedding was officiated by someone we didn't know, in a building we wouldn't be allowed into anymore. The rad old church building we celebrated in has since been demolished. And some of the people who helped make that day happen are no longer with us. So, naturally, looking back at some of these photos makes me sad, even though the day itself was joyful.
But the person looking back on that day with me has seen and held me through so much, in sadness, in joy, in anger, in exhaustion, in excitement, in sickness and in health and all that. And I'm so grateful. It's weird that this was 14 years ago. Time is weird. LOVE is weird. Loving someone for this long means you get to see each other in ALL of your weird. I'm so happy to have morphed from those little sweetie-pies into less-little weirdos together. 💕

(And I'm grateful to everyone who was there to celebrate with us on that day, too. Even the apple-biter).

2025 was weird. There were losses, there were wins... There were BRIDGES YOU CROSSED YOU DIDN'T KNOW YOU CROSSED UNTIL YOU'D CROSSED.
There were cats.

Moooost of all there were beautiful people (not all of whom are pictured) who brought glimmers into the chaos, who held space and made the fight worth fighting. I'm grateful for the beautiful and the silly stories I got to tell. I'm grateful for the music and the memories that were made. And if you read this, I'm probably grateful for you, too. 😉 Probably.

I'm also grateful for Stranger Things but I'm not ready to talk about that yetttt
