Some of my favourite places I’ve eaten in Brighton lately, perfect for a cosy autumnal evening 🍂

@bonsaibrighton wowowow this was unreal! This ‘chicken’ had us alllll fooled. We had the tasting menu which was so much fun - everything was delicious.

@bonsaibrighton seasonal squash 💚

@embers_restaurant_ what a vibe! A dimly-lit space where everything is cooked on an open fire. The epitome of cosy 🔥 sit at the bar for a view of the food being prepped.

@embers_restaurant_ everything was super smokey and had that delicious charred flavour. Cocktails were also fab 🔥

@plateauwinebar I will never stop talking about how much I love the food here, it’s SO GOOD. The rustic vibes only add to that.

@plateauwinebar their lunchtime set menu was such good value but they also serve food for dinner. This lamb literally fell apart, so delish.

@haliscobrighton love it here. Tacos are always banging and it’s cosy inside! Especially downstairs in the basement 🌮

@haliscobrighton have been thinking about this crispy fish dish since I had it!

A PHOTOGRAPHER'S GUIDE TO BRIGHTON | SAVE THIS

I've lived in Brighton for years, and one of my favourite things about this city is that you can head out for a quick wander and somehow end up three hours later with a roll of film, a new camera you didn't need and a very good lunch.

With Thrive Brighton happening next week, I thought I'd put together a little guide for everyone coming to visit.

These are some of my favourite places for food, drinks, film supplies and taking pictures. There are a few tourist spots, obviously, but also some places you might not find unless someone who lives here tells you about them.

And if you're coming to Thrive, I really recommend making a bit of time to explore. Brighton is a brilliant city to wander around with a camera, especially once you get away from the busiest streets.

Save this for your visit, and Brighton locals, what have I missed?

Different lives, different chapters, but still the same girls we were all those years ago. 🥹

A day of sea dips, saunas, margaritas, tacos, laughter and wine. The perfect balance of wholesome and a little bit of chaos In @livvy_m_ new coastal home town . 🌊🍸

And for a little while, we were 16 again.

Here’s to growing older together, but never really growing up. 🤎

🌵🇲🇽 A Sunday well spent at our friends Halisco! 🌮🔥

When @haliscobrighton needed a fresh new look, Sunday was the only day we could get in and get it done… so there was no messing about! 💪🔨

We got stuck in and absolutely smashed it out, getting everything ready for them to open their doors again and get back to doing what they do best.

And if you haven’t been to Halisco yet, you seriously need to get down there and try their food! 🌮🌶️ There’s a reason they’ve been voted Best Food in Brighton 🏆

Can’t wait to see the fresh new look all come together! 🇲🇽🔥

🌮🌶️ 100% GLUTEN-FREE MEXICAN FOOD IN BRIGHTON! 🇲🇽✨
@haliscobrighton

If you’ follow a gluten free diet and love Mexican food, put Halisco on your list! 🌮💃
Halisco is a 100% gluten-free Mexican restaurant in Brighton, serving up authentic Mexican-inspired classics alongside an exciting cocktail menu. And let me tell you… the food is MOUTHWATERING! 🤤

🎂 I celebrated my birthday here in July and, despite it being busy, the service was fantastic. As a family, we ordered a selection of dishes to share, which meant we got to try a little bit of everything!

🇲🇽 To start…
🌶️ Padrón peppers with garlic mayo
🥔 Crispy potatoes with ranchero sauce & Manchego — SO delicious!
🥦 Grilled tenderstem broccoli with yellow romesco, green sriracha & almonds
Everything was beautifully presented and packed with amazing flavours, textures and just the right amount of spice. 🔥

🌮 Then came the tacos…
We tried a selection including:
🌮 Chicken pibil with crispy chilli oil
🌮 Ancho-glazed pork belly with garlic crema & house sriracha
🌮 Short rib quesadilla birria with consommé
Honestly… every single dish was delicious. 😍
And as a coeliac, being able to sit down, look at the menu and have such a huge choice without constantly worrying about gluten contamination was absolutely brilliant. ❤️

🍸 Of course, we couldn’t stop at the food… I paired everything with a spicy Margarita, which was the perfect accompaniment! 🌶️🍹

A HUGE shoutout to Halisco for bringing a 100% gluten-free Mexican restaurant to Brighton — with brilliant food, fun cocktails and an atmosphere that makes you want to come back again and again.

🌮 Mouthwatering food.
🍸 Mega cocktails.
🇲🇽 Mexican magic.
🚫🌾 Zero gluten.

This is definitely somewhere I’ll be returning to regularly! ❤️
