Así llegaron a sus manos el Rubber Soul de The Beatles o The Kids Are Alright de The Who. It’s not news to say that we have more music than ever, and that streaming has brought a level of accessibility that the industry dreamed of. The problem today is whether convenience has become our default method of discovery. In a climate of algorithms telling you what you like, the most interesting scenes right now are the ones making zines, throwing chaotic diy shows, and handing out physical copies of their passion filled projects. The ‘Hallogallo Collective’ in Chicago is one that repeatedly stands out. From Horsegirl to Friko, to Sharp Pins, they create ways for people to discover music organically, through community and experiences. They’re not bringing back the past. They’re bringing back what made music discovery fun in the first place. Because the best discoveries happen when you step outside the algorithm and find it on your own, in the real world. 📸 1: Kai Slater A.K.A.
