Sometimes I find it hard to speak
Other times I’m falling crawling over my feet
Why should I try if I’m only gonna wind up in defeat
Why should I care if the world don’t care care about me
in Me the Dummy in
I’ve developed plans with complications of monumental degree
Coulda drawn a straighter line if I felt a little more complete
Never one to appreciate the world as it reveled itself to me
Every time I gotta taste I spit it out with disregard and mis belief
In Me The Dummy in
I’m feeling wrong you looking strong can u help me please

Tbt: 1995. thank you @hamadamania for this anniversary shout out about this album I worked on with @davejamhall for the group Jade. Trivia fact: #ifthemoodisright was in the top 15 the same week at the #ifyouloveme (also a co-write with #davejamhall) was in the top ten! Dave and I also wrote songs for a four-woman group on his label called #assortedphlavors. Grateful to this amazing producer for taking me under his wings after our first session for @phyllishyman for “It’s Not About You”. #girlgroups #gordonchambers #davehall #90srnb #jade

2008 > USA > RnB

Coming from the corner of 'criminally underrated', here is Kevin Michael (@kev24sev) from the oldest city of US state Pennsylvania, Chester, where he was born in 1985. Citing @timbaland and @missymisdemeanorelliott as musical influences, his first steps in professional music came in 2007, when he made the track "We all want the same thing" with @lupefiasco, and with his great first single "It don't make any difference to me (One love)", alongside @wyclefjean. Take a listen to his great follow-up RnB ballad "Ain't got you", taken from his self-titled debut album. Kevin subsequently toured with Lily Allen, Maroon 5 and John Legend, but in retrospective, he said "Being ushered into the world on (...) Atlantic Records and then having your dream stripped away from you is a daunting reality to endure". It took some time for him to find his passion and confidence again, regardless of chart positions or ticket sales: Kevin has since written tracks for Hudson Mohawke and Luke James, a new song called "Down" appeared in 2019, and more recently, he guested on "Give me some air" by Texas-based DJ @kindridmusic. Today, Kevin turns 36! Happy birthday!

1998 > UK > RnB

It's time for a smooth RnB ballad from the 90s: "Finally found" was the debut track by British girl trio Honeyz Official in 1998. Made up of @celenacherryhoneyz_, Heavenli and Naima, they scored their first big hit and an instant Top 10 success in the British charts with "Finally found", a personal 90s favourite to us, may we confess 🤓. Heavenli was later replaced by Mariama, one fourth of short-lived American-British girl quartet @solidharmonie, before Heavenli returned. The @honeyzofficial have, in fact, reached the UK Top 10 with all of their first five singles, including the ballad "End of the line" and the edgier "Won't take it lying down", all songs of which were taken from their first and only album "Wonder No. 8" from 1998. They parted ways in 2002, but have reformed in 2012 for British TV show 'The Big Reunion'. Today, Célena and Mariama occasionally still perform as the Honeyz.
