🇮🇹KIA ORANA e POPONGI

Sounds good?

Dove vi posso portare?

🏝 Approdiamo su Motu Rapota?

🦶 Tiriamo dritti e andiamo a One Foot Island?

☕️ Torniamo indietro e facciamo colazione su Honeymoon Island?

🇬🇧KIA ORANA and POPONGI

Since the rain has returned to visit us in Rarotonga, today we go to Aitutaki to find the sun and the blue.

Program of the day?

Private cruise, alone, without haste, under the sun, with a little breeze from the east and a sweet iced fresh coconut to sip while admiring the colors of the most beautiful lagoon in the world. Sounds good?

Where can I take you?

🏝 Are we landing on Motu Rapota?

🦶Shall we go straight and go to One Foot Island?

☕️ Shall we go back and have breakfast on Honeymoon Island?

Comment on your choice and the next post will be your favorite stop!

Kia Manuia and remember sunscreen 👍🏝

Kia Manuia e buon weekend! 🏝

🇬🇧KIA ORANA and happy Friday!

Today we want to take you to the Cook Islands’ last frontier- the village of Te Tautua in Penrhyn Atoll.

This village is more than 1,200km away from Rarotonga and to reach it (in addition to the flight) you have to cross the immense Penrhyn lagoon which is so big that it can contain Rome !!!

The village of Te Tuatua has only 50 inhabitants, of which 13 children who after school have the habit of going for a swim while playing and riding the Moe Moe Ava - Lemon Sharks or Nurse Sharks.

Can you spot the shark in the water?

What do you say, would you stop for the weekend?

Kia Manuia and good weekend! 🏝

🇮🇹KIA ORANA!

Kia Manuia e buon fine settimana a tutti 🏝

🇬🇧KIA ORANA!

This weekend we take you to one of my favorite spots in Rarotonga, the taro plantations of Rutaki.

Taro is one of the ingredients of the Cook Islands culinary culture, and has been cultivated for generations in many islands of the Pacific Ocean.

The tuber is normally boiled then consumed as a dish on its own or very often as a "katikati" or as an accompaniment to all those dishes that require something to make “la scarpetta”.

The taro leaves, on the other hand, are boiled in coconut milk to create one of the island's delicacies, Rukao.

Have you ever tried the Taro or the Rukao?

When you come to visit us you must try Kura's grandfather's Rukao - it's addicting!

Kia Manuia and have a wonderful weekend 🏝

🇮🇹KIA ORANA!

Kia Orana e Kia Manuia 🏝🇨🇰🏝

🇬🇧KIA ORANA!

This weekend the weather was spectacular and we took the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful lagoon of Rarotonga.

With us, as always, our dogs who spent the whole weekend with their paws in the water chasing fish and happily playing with their "local" friends.

In the picture Tama (short for Tamaine which means girl in Maori), Mahi's best friend and the companion of all their dog misadventures - and in my opinion also the mind behind the scenes.

Tama originally belonged to Kura's parents with whom she lived for three years.

Then one day she spontaneously decided to come and live with us and she hasn't left since!

Her favorite pastime? Track down crabs and destroy all Mahi collars by wrestling 🤼‍♀️

Do you also have a 4-legged friend? What is its favorite or most particular pastime?

🇮🇹 KIA ORANA!

Kia Manuia! 🏝🇨🇰

🇬🇧KIA ORANA!

Put the stand down, we're here!

Welcome to the taro plantations of Taevenga, one of our favorite corners of the island of #mangaia

Over the millennia, the inner ring of the island has sunk, leaving a very fertile depression guarded by walls of prehistoric coral - the makatea.

The "wall" is crossed by long and vast caves (explorable) used in the past by the local population as a hiding place in case of clashes between villages. Some of these reach the sea, passing under the reef!

Here peace reigns absolute.

The only noises are the rustling of the wind among the banana leaves and the calls of love of the Kakaia - #whitetern

Do you want to stop for a moment before leaving Mangaia?

Kia Manuia! 🏝🇨🇰
