What does being 1% better every day mean to you?

As I was driving to the studio this morning for our @lskd × @houseofmovement.au Social Saturdays event, I found myself reflecting on what that question meant to me today.

Having the privilege of standing alongside LSKD to celebrate their new store opening in Fountain Gate (15th Aug 👀) was incredibly special, but what made today even more meaningful was what it represented: community, connection, movement and the reminder that growth looks different for every single person everyday.

For me, public speaking is one of my biggest fears. It’s an all-consuming anxiety that can sit with me for days leading up to moments like this. It’s funny because I teach classes every day, but standing in front of a room simply to speak as myself feels completely different.

For me today, being 1% better didn’t mean feeling confident. It meant showing up anyway. It meant leaning into the uncertainty, discomfort and fear, giving myself permission to be human, and reminding myself that growth rarely happens inside our comfort zones.

Looking around the room this morning, I was reminded that everyone’s version of being 1% better looks different - and that’s exactly what makes a community like this so special, because we are all there to support each others individual journey.

That’s what I love so much about the message behind LSKD. Being 1% better has never been about perfection. It’s about choosing to show up exactly as you are and taking one small step forward. Those small moments, repeated consistently, are what build stronger people, stronger communities, and a life you’re proud of.

Thank you to everyone who joined us today, and to LSKD for allowing us to be part of such a special morning. I am so grateful to be surrounded by a community that continues to choose growth, connection, and showing up for one another.

Here’s to being 1% better, together. 🤍

Cue One Year of @houseofmovement.au photo dump 🥹🌞

Where do I even begin? What a surreal experience it was to be surrounded by, and to be standing up in front of, a collective of people who have been the backbone, heart and soul of house.

It is a superpower to hold warmth and create a safe place for someone to be their most authentic self. And whilst it makes me so happy to know house feels like home to so many, it’s you guys that make house feel like home to me. A place where I can be my truest, loudest version of myself. Every great quality that house has is a testament to you. The way you show up, the energy you bring, and the genuine care you pour into this space.

This past year has been like nothing else. I have the greatest partner in crime to ever exist in @olivia.wrl, and the most empowering team I could ever ask for. To be surrounded by so many truly brilliant, talented, passionate and deeply kind individuals is something I’ll never take for granted. There is nothing quite like it.

This past year has challenged me. It has demanded growth from me. And because of it, I have learnt more about myself, leadership, courage and community than I ever could have imagined. It has completely changed my life, and I cannot wait to see what this next year brings.
I forever thank my lucky stars for this crazy little life I get to live and the people I get to share it with.

Thank you to every single person who has been by my side on this journey. Through it all. You all know who you are. I am forever grateful for you. 💛

Friends cheering you on + proving to yourself you’re capable of so much more than you think 🤝🏻

Strength can come in many different forms. It can look like lifting heavier, but it can also look like backing yourself, trying something new or letting people support you while you do hard things.

There’s something really powerful about being in a room where everybody is challenged differently, yet celebrated equally. Where movement isn’t about proving yourself, but feeling safe enough to give it a go 🫶🏼
