ART SHOW AUCTION ALERT…

‘Nappa Cabbage’ by Dawn Tan (guest artist) @handmadelove

Original Watercolour printed on beautiful 100% acid-free, quality art paper using quality archival inks. Print comes framed and hand signed.

« A vegetable that means to me, family and a mother’s love »

In 2025, Dawn facilitated an incursion with our Prep to Year 2 artists. Students created colourful still-life paintings of their favourite foods. This wonderful and enriching experience was made possible thanks to funds raised at the 2024 Art Show and the generous support of the Sacred Heart Kew community. You can see these amazing artworks on display at the Art Show.

Funds raised through the Art Show auction directly support our art program, helping to fund enriching experiences such as art incursions and excursions. Our online auction goes live at the beginning of term 4. Don’t miss out on this beautiful piece! 🥬

Can’t believe my 4yo is using Procreate now to create digital art 😱

And no, I did not teach her.

I don’t even know how to use it 🤣

Swipe to read the story and then tell me which stage of creating art your child is currently at :)

“LIFE CHANGING ADVICE”
“That’s an underrated tip 😂😂😂”
“I wish I knew this earlier lol”

When I shared this little tip in my stories of how I get my toddler to create her own perfect colours every single time without it becoming a yucky brown, I got tons of comments like these

So here’s my tip -

When I invite my PRESCHOOLERS to mix and create their own colours, I usually offer them 🔴🔵🟡⚪️

But when I invite my TODDLERS to create and mix their own colours, I offer just 2 primary colours and white!!

They end up creating a beautiful colour every. single. time that they and you will be so incredibly proud of!!

🔴🔵⚪️
🔵🟡⚪️

Edit: Sorry everyone - I had amazing auto-levelling earbuds on and didn't realise the powered tools were that loud!

Let's build another bench (this time mini with an extra space for tiny shoes). #homediy

The vision has always been to have an old, vintage bench out on the front patio. We couldn't find anything antique, but did give new life to some reject/recycled timber. And now this spot looks just perfect.

When we first spotted the fireplace and the original half-completed DIY tiling, we knew we wanted it re-tiled - and @handmadelove had a vision of bringing a little bit of our Peranakan heritage into the new home.

We repainted the brickwork and then liquid nailed the new tiles on top of the old ones (themselves glued on to the original tiles), which conveniently all worked out to be the same height of the moulding that I eventually custom cut and stain-matched to the mantel.

Swipe right for the OG questionable DIY...
