Congrats to our team! Last year, I would never have dreamt that I would be able to weave a shawl in 3 hours. Such an honor to participate with our fabulous team. We did it! I’ll be doing a live interview tomorrow Tuesday October 13 at 4pm EST with @handweaversorg for their Textiles and Tea interview series. If you’d like to join you can register for the interview through @handweaversorg website under the programs tab (find the textiles and tea link). Or send me a DM and I can send you the link!

The interview will be archived and available sometime after the live airing. I’ll let you know when that happens. In the meantime, I’d love it if you’d join in tomorrow, there will be a Q & A following the interview.

❤️ My life and my heart are so full! ❤️

I have been weaving for over 50 years, constantly exploring and investigating the woven structure, first with yarn and thread, then bringing in wire and metal. Never stopping. Always curious. Asking, “what if I do this?”

And here, in this time, my first solo exhibit lives on (extended until 10/18) AND the @handweaversorg is publishing an article in their journal ‘Shuttle Spindle & Dyepot’ about the process of preparing for an exhibit of this kind. ❗️AND, my sculpture ‘Inflammation’ is featured on the cover of the magazine❗️Where are my smelling salts!?!

I am beyond grateful to our beautiful weaving community, both national and local, for the steady presence in our lives to support us in our passions. Thank you, HGA, for sharing my story. Thank you @artcentre_plano for providing the space to show my work. And a huge thanks to Mr. Miller for being my partner in art and life.

Fannie Lee is a New York-based fiber artist whose work spans tapestry, collage, pattern weaving, and embroidery. With an art background from Kent State and Syracuse universities, her work is exhibited in galleries and museums. Her current practice includes creatively manipulating other media—paper, photos, and fabric—into designs that serve as the cartoons for her tapestries.
