Colt is now home, 4 months old and weighing in @ 8 pounds!!!!!!!!!

It’s been such a long hard road not having our baby home. Being torn between 2 places and 2 kids for 4 months is very draining emotionally and physically.
.
Wyatt finally got to meet his little brother and he is so excited to be a great big brother. All Wyatt wants to do is hold Colt all day long. It’s so cute 🥰.

We are truly so blessed and lucky to have amazing family and friends to help us get through this time. Jake and I have been so touched by the messages, prayers, gifts, donations, babysitting and the meals. So thank you everyone for all the love and support.

Poor little guy had a rough 24 hours. Had to have blood drawn, labs came back and his liver is still not doing well. They are contacting a specialist and running more test. Now he has an IV in his head and he now has a catheter for urine test. My heart cries everyday watching Colt fight. Oh plus he has 2 hernias. Wondering when this gets better??????#headache#nicustrong💪#hanginjranch#coltstrong💙

Colt is now 33 weeks gestation but he is 5 weeks and 5 days old. Two different ages. He is making progress and weighs a total of 2 pounds and 9 ounces. He has some issues with his liver at the moment but they are watching him closely. The goal is to grow, eat, rest, and wean him off the oxygen. Go Colt!!!! #nicustrong💪 # nicumom#nicudads #hanginjranch

Major milestones…. Colt is 2 pounds!!!!!!We celebrated with donuts for the nurses and doctors. His pick line has been taken out and they changed his oxygen tubes. No more head gear ( that’s what we call it, head gear). They have increased his feedings, but we still have issues with to much air in his tummy. I’m a happy mommy right now. #nicustrong💪 #nicumom #31weeks#hanginjranch

Colt is now 3 weeks old!!! He is 1lbs 14oz. We last week was rough, so the last few days the goal is for Colt to sleep, rest, and eat. We have good and bad days but each day we look forward to new milestones. It’s funny to be so happy about hearing your child cry for the first time, or his first poop on his own. We are celebrating the milestones and trying to stay positive. Thank you for your help during our family crisis. It amazes us how many family, friends, and even strangers have reached out to us. #hanginjranch #nicustrong💪#thankful

This process is not easy. Watching your child hooked up to wires, tubes, and monitors is heartbreaking. Knowing that all I can do is pray and hope for the best. It’s one step forward and two steps back. Everyday is a new challenge. Colt is being pushed to do things that a normal 2 week old baby can do but really he is under development and 3 months to young. Making his body work harder to breathe, eat, and poop. His body is needs lots of help to mature. So far Colt has had blood transfusion, put on breast milk, only to be taken off and put on electro lites, to much air in his tummy, numerous Bradycardia attacks, brains scans for brain bleeds and the list goes on. Yesterday they put a catheter in cause he wasn’t peeing enough. Today he is scheduled for a kidney ultrasound and then an ultrasound for his heart. Praying that these Bradycardia attacks stop so that he can rest easy and grow stronger. Praying that he has the will to fight so that he can come home one day. Praying that I can hold him without wires and tubes. Praying that I can kiss him and not wear a mask. Praying for my own strength to deal with this emotional roller coaster. Praying and hoping is all I can do!!! #nicumom#nicustrong#30weeks#hanginjranch#prayersforhealing#preemie
