(🗿928👸) Dropping into Atlantic City NJ to share this pageant queen! There are two Miss America statues in Atlantic City, the other is found across town in a hotel courtyard. It’s on my list for next time.
Words from Roadsideamerica.com, dedication pics poached from the internet.

When the Miss America pageant returned to its hometown in 2014, a larger-than-life sculpture of Miss America was erected on the ocean side of Boardwalk Hall. The bronze beauty queen wears a gown, sash and crown, and extends both hands holding an empty crown for the next winner.
*
At 1.25 life-size, the figure is like an emissary from a planet of statuesque giantesses. It’s easy for anyone strolling the planks to strike a pose under the crown. We spotted guys having their tear-filled moment as girlfriends or wives goaded them from behind phonecams. Sculptor Brian Hanlon told us it “was an idea that I had so that all visitors to the boardwalk could participate in the Miss America pageant just a little bit.”
*
For the sculpture, Hanlon blended the features of three former Miss Americas selected by a committee — two winners from New Jersey — 1937’s Bette Cooper and 1984’s short-reigning Suzette Charles — and the 2013 winner, New York’s Mallory Hagan

One more appreciation post for this year’s Big Bang Mile @bellworks , as we had a record number of registrants and a great morning of racing for all ages… Among the highlights were a new meet record and a new American age group record. @joshizewski of Doylestown, PA, eclipsed the men’s meet record that had stood since 2022 by running 4:13.10. Running in the same Open Men heat, @ricklee763 smashed his own American record for the 65-69 age group by 7 seconds, cranking out an amazing 5:01.49. We also hailed Fiona Bayly of New York, NY, for winning the women’s 50+ heat in 5:33.10 and the masters women’s age grading competition with 93.39%. We were glad to honor Mel Ullmeyer as well as the High School/Middle School Heat was named for the now retired @shore_track_xc coach and @monmouthtfxc Hall of Famer. #usatfnj #mastersrecord #meetrecord #bellworks

Today was a historic day in Monmouth County, as we unveiled the Monmouth250 Monuments at Swimming River Park in Lincroft. These pieces, created by local artist Brian Hanlon, commemorate our County’s vital role in the fight for American independence. If you’re in the area, be sure to stop by and check them out!

Today we unveiled four new bronze statues at Covenant Health Park recognizing Knoxville greats Beauford Delaney, Ida Cox, Ruth Cobb Brice, and Nikki Giovanni!

Greatly appreciate @hanlonstudio1 ,@beckxultureexchangecenter, and the @knoxvillecity for their leadership and partnership in helping us honor African Americans from Knoxville who made enduring contributions to this community. This stadium is more than a place for sports and entertainment. It’s a gathering place where history, culture, and community come together in meaningful ways.

Please come by to visit and let us know what you think!

We had some special guests at practice yesterday. @monmouthalumni and world class sculptor @hanlonstudio1 did a little 400m time trial, with some assistance from personal pacer @ricklee763 - a masters national champion and masters national record holder. Is @pennrelays next for Brian? Stay tuned. Photos by @camjanovic . #flyhawks #sculptortothestars

We appreciate all those who joined us for the Bill Bruno Alumnj Run at Holmdel Park last weekend - a record 277 entrants in the 5K and 3K. @bchill5k won the 5K in 15:40; @rutgersrunning was the top club team; and athletes of all ages raced their way through the hills at Holmdel. The event helped raise funds for @teencanceramerica , a group founded by Bill’s favorite classic rock band, @officialthewho. Thank you as well to the @monmouth_county_parks crew, who helped us put this event on before the @njsiaasports_ Meet of Champs. #holmdelparknj #teencanceramerica #billbruno #billbrunoalumnirun

3 years ago, with the support of many Berkshire friends, the Elizabeth Freeman Statue was unveiled in Sheffield. Paul O’Brien, Julia Murphy and I kick this idea around and 9 months later she stood proudly as a free woman on gods green earth. Let’s ALL #BeBerkshire

Viking Village was founded in the 1920’s by first generation Scandinavian fisherman. The facility was known as the Independent Fish Company until it was renamed Viking Village, after the original Norwegian founders. Today, they are the home port to more than 40 independently-owned fishing vessels. Each year, about 5 million pounds of seafood is packed out and shipped both locally and around the world. “FROM OUR FOUNDING IN THE 1920S UNTIL TODAY VIKING VILLAGE HAS CONTINUED TO GROW AND EVOLVE AS AN INDUSTRY LEADER IN COMMERCIAL SEAFOOD PRODUCTION” 🦪🦐🦞🐟 🇩🇰🇸🇪🇳🇴🇫🇮 @vikingvillagelbi @hanlonstudio1
