ACCELERATION/ TOP SPEED/ CHANGE OF DIRECTIONS/ ELASTIC AND REACTIVE

4 performance blocks I like to work on with my athletes

Sports development come in many ways and before we get to strength training that’s dedicated to our performance blocks. We spend a bit of time perfecting some good fundamentals

Acceleration- short ground contact, extension, proper positioning and angle

Top speed- Posture preparation, efficient force development and core engagement

Change of Direction- Learning to drop our hips, shift our momentum to another direction and intentional movement

Elastic and Reactive- Ankle Stiffness and twitchy development

As a wide receiver, nothing matters more than catching the football. You can run the cleanest route, create separation, and make every right read, but if you don’t finish the play by securing the catch, none of it counts. Great hands build trust with your quarterback, keep drives alive, and create game-changing opportunities. Catching isn’t just another skill—it’s the foundation of playing the position.
