THE OLD MAN AND THE OLD MOON

In 2024, I had the opportunity to direct and choreograph the @stagedoormanor premiere of The Old Man and the Old Moon by @pigpentheatreco.

The piece gave our team the opportunity to introduce audiences and young artists to the show’s imaginative, physical and ensemble-driven style of storytelling while establishing its first creative life within the Stagedoor Manor community.

This production also allowed me to work deeply in one of my favorite creative spaces: building the complete theatrical world of a piece through direction, movement and ensemble storytelling.

From shaping the visual language and physical vocabulary of the production to developing its pacing, staging and character relationships, my work centered on creating a cohesive world that felt imaginative, playful and grounded in the unique storytelling style of the piece.

For me, directing and choreography are deeply connected. Movement informs story. Story informs staging. Every visual choice should help an audience understand the world, the characters and the emotional journey unfolding in front of them.

Swipe through for a glimpse into the Stagedoor Manor premiere of this incredible piece.
