Sometimes healing looks like letting go of the very things that make you feel like yourself. 🤍

Today, I’m letting go of my hair, but I’m also letting go of the idea that I have to look a certain way to recognize the woman staring back at me. Cancer is changing so much about my life, and while I wish I could choose the changes, I’m learning that I can choose how I move through them.

This isn’t just about shaving my head. It’s about releasing the fear, making room for the unknown, and embracing a new version of myself that I’m still getting to know. It’s about choosing to see this not as a loss, but as a step forward in my healing.

I know there will be hard days. Days when I miss my old self, my old hair, and the life that felt familiar. But I also know that I am still here. Still me. Still whole. Still worthy of feeling beautiful. Still finding my way forward.

My hair may be part of my story, but it has never been the whole story. And cancer may change the way I look, but it will never get to decide who I am.
