Life with post-concussion syndrome often feels like doing a complicated math equation. Thinking ahead to try and control as many variables as you can to keep you symptoms at bay. And even then, there are many you can’t control at all!

A social outing, a trip to the grocery store, a workout, or a full day of work all come with the same questions: Will this trigger symptoms? How much can I handle? What will I have to give up afterward if I push it?

It’s a constant balancing act, and it impacts everything.

Want to hear more about what life with PCS really looks like? Listen to Episode 9 of Invisible Impact: A Post-Concussion Podcast, where former D1 soccer player @hannah_halll sits down with @juliamanning2 to discuss the realities of living with post-concussion syndrome, the constant calculations behind everyday life, and what it takes to navigate recovery.

PCS is so much more than headaches. It's the brain fog, fatigue, dizziness, sensory overload, memory struggles, and invisible challenges that can impact every part of daily life. Just because you can't see it, doesn't mean it isn't real. Hannah shared her post-concussion experience with us on Episode 9 of Invisible Impact: A Post-Concussion Podcast.

You don't have to face persistent symptoms alone. Our helpline team at ConcussionAndCTE.org/HelpLine is here to help you find doctors who understand what you're going through. 💙

Hannah Hall grew up with her life mapped out: play soccer, go D1, and keep chasing the sport that she loved. At just age 13, what she thought was a “mild” concussion spiraled into a decade-long battle with persistent post-concussion symptoms that impacted every part of her life — school, relationships, mental health, and the sport she loved.

In this episode of Invisible Impact, Hannah sits down with our host Julia Manning to share how she got through high school and college with persistent symptoms, why she decided to end her soccer career at San Jose State, and what daily life with PCS looks like for her now as an adult working in pro sports.

The full conversation is available now on Episode 9 of Invisible Impact: A Post-Concussion Podcast.
