🌋 Antigua, Guatemala February ‘26 If you told me a few years ago that at 25 I would spend a month solo travelling a foreign country living out of backpacks, or standing on an active volcano feeling the ground shake while watching lava spew out in front of my eyes, or swim in turquoise pools that look like they’re straight out of an avatar movie, or get blessed at a Mayan altar in a cave by a shamanic stranger that speaks no English, or train to be a doula among some of the most incredible women I could have ever imagined, I honestly think I would’ve believed you… I always knew I’d do some cool shit in my life 🤣🤣 Guatemala, I can’t thank you enough for sharing your beauty, wisdom, & history with me. It was a privilege to witness, experience & learn from your land & people. I’m not sure if I’ll every truly be able to put into words what this trip meant to me & for me, but I know that I left this country a better person & a stronger woman. Everyone who’s never been out of their hometown, will shout from the rooftops that other countries are dangerous, & traveling alone isn’t safe or smart. The thing is, I’ve always been the kind of girl who just had to touch the stove to know it was hot. Life is too fucking short to take someone else’s word for whatever calls to you. & so I urge you, any of you, all of you… go do something that scares you, see what you can learn about yourself when faced with something different or unexpected. Welcome the unknown & thrive in the uncertainty, because time is everything we have & don’t in this life… so go touch the stove & see how hot the thing really is.
